Please contemplate what is meant by "luminosity of mind," citing "I am no different," etc. What is the self-nature luminosity of mind, etc., and cite the complete Bodhicitta of self-nature luminosity, etc. It cannot be defiled by afflictions, because it is unconditioned, so it does not change like the sky? Or is it conditioned, but what is it that does not know how to be defiled by afflictions? If it is like the first case, the wish is fulfilled. If it is like the second case, if it always remains unwavering on one object, then one cannot newly meditate on emptiness. Nor will it become the proximate cause of omniscience. Etc., please contemplate. Therefore, omniscience must be the Tathagatagarbha, possessing the ten powers, the self-arisen wisdom that has always existed. That is the main subject to be explained in Tantra, please cite. Moreover, if the Mahayana Sutras and Uttaratantra also hold it to be so, then what need is there to mention Tantra? The innate mind is always present, the nature of mind is like the sky, it must be present in all sentient beings. Like subtle mind, detached from conditions, contemplating space, if it is not always present, then it is not the innate mind. If it is present, does it know other things besides its own object, or does it not know? If it knows, then it becomes conceptual. If it does not know, then one cannot become accustomed to emptiness. If that which can be changed into omniscience is the innate mind, then is meditating on the infinite sky, etc., also done by that innate mind or not? If it is, then it is not a special characteristic of Tantra. If it is not, then what is it? Is it coarse mind or the alaya, etc.? If the innate mind, subtle mind is conditioned, then it can be transformed by conditions and can also be interrupted, because it is conditioned. Because it can be transformed into various forms, just as one can learn to habituate goodness, etc., if one becomes habituated to afflictions, then one will also accumulate the seeds of samsara, because it generates everything. The five winds and lights are the cause of the manifestation of the body, but they manifest not only the body of the Buddha, but also various things such as vases, blankets, etc. Therefore, why is the cause that manifests as many objects and subjects as there are, such as self-Mahamudra, only the cause of the Buddha's body? It coarsely generates the appearance of samsara, and subtly generates its own various empty forms, but these alone are not the undefiled appearance of the basis of reality, because they are accompanied by karmic winds. The primordial sound and primordial wind that are free from karmic winds are unconditioned, so they do not become the cause of samsara. Nor will they become the basis of habitual tendencies. Sutra.

No matter how the immeasurable magical displays of the various appearances of samsara and nirvana are transformed, it is necessary to understand that these arise solely from the functions of consciousness and wisdom. Consciousness is conditioned and impermanent, while wisdom is unconditioned and permanent. From the aspect of the mixture of consciousness and wisdom, the appearance is impermanent, while the state appears to be permanent, and the distinction is that only wisdom is the unchanging great bliss, the body of wisdom equal to space, the ultimate result of the fruition, which is Buddhahood. The function of consciousness has the characteristic of various magical displays of samsara, and the ways in which various paths appear, all of which need to be carefully distinguished. The state in which only consciousness functions is the impure ground, the state in which consciousness and wisdom mix and function is the path with both impure and pure aspects, and the state in which only wisdom functions is the utterly pure fruition, these three need to be divided. Although it is called rigpa (awareness), it is the reality that is inseparable from dharmadhatu. Similarly, in the case of co-emergent wisdom and so on, although it is called dharmadhatu, in essence, it should be understood as the inseparability of dhatu (realm) and rigpa (awareness). Although it is divided into appearance and emptiness in appearance, in reality, there is no difference, and that is another definition of dharmadhatu, just like whether it is a name or not. Subtle mind is the alaya (store consciousness), so as the basis for habits, it can become the cause of impurity. If there is uncontaminated wisdom and so on on top of the alaya, then that is the innate mind. If not, then that is the impure mind, not the pure mind. Where do you place the habits of meditating on emptiness and completion stage? If you don't place them, the path will not progress. If you place them, the innate mind, subtle mind, will become the basis for habits, etc., which need to be examined. If the subtle mind, innate mind, is conditioned, then is it conditioned by afflictions? Or is it the previous one of its own kind? What does it depend on, such as change? You need to examine and discard the faults. The subtle mind is produced by change. If there is no change, the stream of consciousness will cease, and that is only wisdom. Wisdom is self-born dharmata (nature of reality), so it does not need a cause, and it does not cease. If it is not change, it contradicts mantra. If it is only of the same kind, then if it is always irreversible, then it follows that it is the cause of samsara. It exists after the three appearances and never reverses. If it knows how to meditate on emptiness, then everything becomes easy to learn. If it does not depend on the three appearances, then its cause is wind.
