If it is said to be a subtle mind, then what is that which precedes it, such as luminosity, and what is like the sky? Is it a subtle mind? That is its object. If it is an object, is it conditioned or unconditioned? If it is conditioned, then which of the three is it: form, consciousness, or neither? If it is unconditioned, then is it cessation by analysis, etc., or emptiness? This is the question. If it is said that it is none of those, but merely an appearance of mind, then examine whether that appearance, which is more subtle than one, can grasp other appearances, etc. The illusory body is also the self-display of luminosity, primordially existent. If it is not so, but is newly created from the five winds and five lights, then luminosity is not the self-display possessing all aspects, and it would fall into nihilistic emptiness. If that were the case, the three realms could not transform from it, yet scriptures are cited that say they do arise. If the deity body of union is the result of the five winds as the proximate cause, then the basis cannot be union, and it would become nihilistic emptiness. Such a view is refuted by scripture. Furthermore, if the cause of the appearance of the pure deity body is not the primordial wind, then its proximate cause is wind, because ordinary beings do not have primordial wind, only karmic wind. If one practices with methods, it is only the cause of primordial wind, like a seed without water and fertilizer, it is a time when the cause of primordial wind has not yet matured. If you assert this, then you would also assert that ordinary beings have primordial wind in the central channel, because the three actions of wind entering, abiding, and dissolving in the central channel is the swift path of Vajrayana, which is highly praised, and the tantras say that whether one has entered the path or not, all beings inherently possess the mandala of the essence of wisdom wind, and the indestructible bindu, inherently possessing unchanging bliss and supreme emptiness union, pervading space, Vajradhara of space. If it were not so, then no matter what point of the body is touched, essential wisdom could not arise, because everything would be merely impure wind-mind. If wind-mind is gathered into the channels, one might achieve calm abiding, but one would not realize the dharmadhatu, because there would be no reason to establish its realization. If one asserts that, if it is not related to the realization of emptiness of the central channel path, then one cannot achieve liberation and omniscience through the Vajrayana path, then the emptiness of the central channel path is nominal.

Is that the emptiness of the Dharmadhatu luminosity, the union of emptiness, the emptiness that possesses all kinds of excellence, which is inherently the Dharma-nature of all Dharmas? Or is it merely a nominal negation? If it is not nominal, then how can ordinary beings be guided, since it is admitted that only the noble ones know it? If it is nominal, then emptiness is not a characteristic, because it is only the object of mental discrimination. When the eighty kinds of self-nature's conceptualizations cease, how can one remember the object of conceptualization? If one remembers, then one will also remember the eighty kinds of self-nature, etc. Furthermore, without relying on the severance of true establishment, it is impossible for an independent nature of non-truth to arise. If it arises, it will harm the establishment of truth and the seeing of self-characteristics, etc. If it does not arise, then how can the object of conceptualization, which is merely established by discrimination, be mixed with the non-conceptual luminosity? If adding the defilement of conceptualization to the non-conceptual makes it better, then that is laughable. Similarly, although all the minds of ordinary beings that meditate on emptiness are conditioned, through the way of generating the unconditioned, inexpressible nature of emptiness, it is said that one realizes emptiness in the manner of a general meaning, and that it is subsequent luminosity. But this is not to newly establish the self-characteristic of emptiness by making it the proximate cause, because emptiness inherently exists. Although luminosity and emptiness are not different in essence, if the proximate cause of luminosity is a subtle mind, then if the mind that meditates on the general meaning of emptiness is not the proximate cause of emptiness, not the proximate cause of the unborn, unceasing, space-like, then emptiness will become unconditioned. Therefore, emptiness should not have a proximate cause. If it is said that luminosity is the subject and emptiness is the object, then has it inherently realized emptiness or not? If it has not realized it, then it is not the nature of the subject; if it has realized it, then why is it necessary to newly remember the view of emptiness? The innate mind, luminosity and emptiness, are inherently inseparable, it is self-arisen wisdom, and that is also the Dharma-nature of the Dharmadhatu and all Dharmas, there is nothing other than that. Furthermore, luminosity is the subject of conditioned phenomena, if the object, emptiness, is different from it, then it cannot be the Dharma-nature of all Dharmas, but scriptures such as the Noble Discourses are cited to explain that luminosity is the Dharma-nature. The three doors of liberation and the four doors of luminosity, etc.
