Therefore, it is impossible for any appearing phenomenon to be without true existence. Therefore, all limited appearances that are expressed through differentiation do not go beyond dependent origination. Even so, we must understand that although emptiness-form appears in various ways, it is not truly established in various ways. Just as the shape of the sky appears in various ways due to the container, but we do not consider the sky to be impermanent, similarly, it is due to the power of the place of appearance. The nature of the unbiased, four-times-perfect Dharma, in its own essence, is not established as an appearance of dependent origination. Like the sky, it is not dependent-arising, and it transcends the language of dependent imputation. Although the appearance of limited dependent origination is infallible, without dependent origination, there would be no self-arisen luminosity. Therefore, it must be said that the great emptiness, the nature of reality, and the realm of the luminous expanse of the Dharmadhatu are not dependently originated. If it is dependently originated, then it is not the unmade original state, but it will be made, becoming a new thing born from causes and conditions. Although the expanse of the great luminosity of coemergent perfection exists in an inconceivable nature, because there are no terms of appearing and appearing, and there is no object of grasping and being grasped, it is not dependently originated, but transcends the extremes of appearing and non-appearing, and so on. Furthermore, the later New Tradition's Wamang Geshe said, "In the hearts of the Nyingmapas is the Buddha, in the lungs is the sentient being, and these two travel back and forth through the path." This illogical absurdity, claiming to be wise, does not realize that he is exposing his own foolish nature. This was originally the wrong view of Drigung Paljin. As it says in the Vimala Nyingtik, "The mind resides in the lungs, awareness resides in the heart and lungs, as a deity image the size of a mustard seed. Such a thing is a heretical religion." To this, Wamang, you do not even understand the meaning of the terms "mind" and "sentient being," yet you take on the burden of refuting others, which is ridiculous. Why? Because it is said that in the lungs resides the "mind" riding the karma wind, and in the heart resides the "wisdom" riding the primordial wind. If it is understood that there is an independent sentient being in the lungs and an independent Buddha in the heart, it is laughable. When we say "sentient being," we are referring to a being who has mind, that is, one who has eyes...

It is just so. What is unreasonable about the mind residing in the lungs? Just as other eye-consciousnesses reside in the eye and see forms, etc. Likewise, the five consciousnesses that ride on the five branch winds, as it is said in the scriptures, wander in the five senses. If it were as you say, then in the eye there would be a sentient being that sees forms, in the ear there would be a sentient being that hears sounds, etc., six different kinds of sentient beings residing in the body of one person, each independent. Moreover, each thought is also a mind, so countless sentient beings of different kinds reside in one body. And, the consciousnesses that ride on the twenty-one thousand six hundred winds, one must acknowledge that sentient beings of that number pervade to the ultimate end of the body's pores. Likewise, regarding wisdom residing in the body, the Kalachakra Tantra says: "Other than the body, there is no Buddha who pervades and grants liberation. Sentient beings are Buddhas, there is no other great Buddha in this world." Also, the Hevajra Tantra says: "Great wisdom resides in the body, abandoning all discriminations, pervading all things, residing in the body but not born of the body." Also, the Sambhuta Tantra says: "The Buddha resides in one's own body, there is no Buddha elsewhere. Those obscured by the darkness of ignorance desire the Buddha outside the body. The great wisdom that has abandoned all discriminations resides in the body, pervading all things, residing in the body but not born of the body." Also, the Advaya-vijaya says: "In the heart of all sentient beings resides the secret essence of the mind, that is the Tathagatagarbha possessing the three essentials, it is the place of abiding." Also, the great Brahmin said: "When the wise explain the scriptures, they do not realize that wisdom exists in the body." Also, Vajraghanta says: "Always abiding in the heart, the one bindu has no change, for the person who meditates on it, wisdom will certainly arise." Thus, there are endless scriptures, but that much is enough to understand. When its nature is explained extensively, in some tantras it is said to be the bindu of five lights in the heart. In Dzogchen, it is said to be the complete body of the peaceful and wrathful deities. Its parts also pervade the chakras of the brain, etc.
