Because it is not for any other reason. In that case, whether one has entered the path or not, the unchanging, co-emergent nature of reality is never absent, nor does it change. Therefore, some individuals must manifest the co-emergent meaning of the signless completion stage by relying on the completion stage with signs, and cannot realize it solely through the instructions of the path of liberation. For example, one cannot realize the Mahayana without first manifesting the path of the Shravakas; one cannot realize the meaning of the Madhyamaka without first understanding the Mind-Only; and one cannot enter the Mantrayana without first understanding the path of the Madhyamaka. Similarly, one cannot enter the signless completion stage without first understanding the generation stage, the completion stage with signs, and so on. Moreover, even within the signless, one cannot completely deny the existence of various individuals who do not have absolute faith in the self-appearing clear light path and cannot pursue sectarian views. Because the faculties, abilities, and thoughts of sentient beings are diverse, the Buddha also taught the paths of the three vehicles. Moreover, within the Mahayana itself, five types, such as those who travel by ox-cart, are taught. Similarly, although it may be possible that one cannot manifest the clear light of meaning without relying on the completion stage with signs, it is not always the case. For example, even if one has not first understood the Madhyamaka, there may be individuals like Indrabodhi in the Vajrayana who have a definite lineage and sharp faculties, which cannot be denied. Therefore, without needing to rely on the completion stage with signs, one can recognize the co-emergent wisdom through the power of the primordial ground, the great Dharmakaya, which is inherently present, and through the power of the guru's instructions and the transference of blessings. Although the lower tantras cannot do this due to the concealment of their instructions, in Dzogchen, because it is taught without explicit concealment, one does not need to first enter the Madhyamaka, etc. If one recognizes the co-emergent wisdom, one fulfills the meaning of entering the Madhyamaka. In this way, through this swift, effortless, and meaningful path, as it is said, "In a single instant, one becomes perfectly enlightened." Without relying on the accumulation of countless eons in the Sutra path, one can achieve accomplishment in a single lifetime through the Mantrayana. Moreover, the wisdom that arises from diligently focusing on the key points of the completion stage with signs and means in the Mantrayana for a long time,

Since recognizing one's own nature in its own place through the oral instructions of the Mother Tantras gives rise to certainty that the path of Dzogchen is supreme. At the time of such recognition, recognizing the coemergent, intrinsic wisdom is even more excellent than the winds entering the central channel; there is nothing more to do. After realization, through familiarization, on the way of traversing the bhumis and paths, there is a great difference due to the difference in the magnitude of effort, up to the point of directly seeing the luminosity of meaning. After that, anything is acceptable on the noble bhumis. Similarly, the luminosity appearances of the generation stage with signs, the gathering of winds, and the long practice with subtle bindus, are far surpassed by making the self-arisen luminosity appearances, which are most pure and supreme, the path from now on, accomplished in a short time through effortless action and binding. This is a hidden dharma that is not taught elsewhere, even within the Dzogchen tantras, except in the category of the most secret oral instructions. Therefore, like this, if one recognizes the rigpa of original purity and gains the experience of spontaneous, luminous appearances, the union of the two, then one naturally obtains the fruit of the Vajrayana tantras, which are like an ocean, attains the limit of mantra experience, and excels in eloquence. Furthermore, this phenomenon of luminous signs, as a subject, must either always exist or always not exist. It follows that it is one of the two, since it is an appearance without a cause. If someone asks, "Is it because there is no cause for its arising, since it is emptiness-form, like a comb, that the ultimate reality will newly arise?" It is like that which is said. Appearance has a cause, because the self-radiance of luminosity itself is the cause of appearance, and there is the condition of mind. If someone asks, "Is the cause of appearance not the cause of the arising of appearance?" The answer is no, it is like the reflection of the moon in water, it only gives rise to the illusion of arising. It is like that which is said. So, if all phenomena are like that, pervading causeless, conditionless, mere appearance, emptiness-form? If one examines it in this way according to the true meaning, then all phenomena ultimately resemble emptiness-form, without a basis or root, since they are unborn. If all phenomena are just the clear appearance of non-existence, then it is unreasonable to assert that there is no error or non-error, and that things exist or do not exist. The answer is that this is asserted in the ultimate truth. There is no such consequence in conventional truth, because temporarily, in the face of the mind, the conventions of things existing and not existing have been made. If we follow that
