Although it transcends these, in terms of expression, it is called the Great Constant. It is not a momentary impermanent thing, nor is it an eternally unchanging real thing. Although there is no change, it is not an empty void either. Because there is a basis for being designated as the Great Constant, it is different from considering emptiness as constant. If we examine things like the sky that are considered constant, although there is only a return from impermanence, there is no basis for being designated as constant. The realm of luminosity is different from the barren child of a barren woman, the empty void, etc., because luminosity manifests itself, it exists. Because it is not momentary, it is called the Great Constant. Then, since it is not eternally unchanging, why not call it impermanent? Although it is not contradictory for it to appear that way in appearance, in reality, how can something that has never arisen cease? Because one falsely assumes its cessation, it is not called impermanent. Because it is unreasonable to say that when measured by expression. As it is said, "Returning is without self-nature, dwelling and non-dwelling should be examined, it is not," and so on. If you understand it this way, then the appearance of Tögal is naturally abiding. From the eye inserted into the central light channel, the light manifests outward, so it is not deluded by illusion. If those with little learning think that what is seen with the ordinary bubble-like eyes is the same as land, stones, mountains, and rocks, and that it is liberated through the power of the path of meditation, then the empty forms of the ten signs, when they appear in the field of vision with eyes open during the day, although they appear as if seen by the eyes, they are not forms that can be grasped by bubble-like eyes, just as they can be seen at night. When seeing at night, although there is no function of the eyes, just as self-appearance appears before the eyes, so too is the lamp of the empty form of Tögal. Although it appears in the sky due to the sun and other causes, the signs of luminosity also appear when the luminosity of closing the eyes and deep sleep manifests. Therefore, saying that it is seen with the eyes is a self-contradictory statement inadvertently uttered by someone with very little experience of the Vajrayana path. Therefore, merely establishing the union of appearance and emptiness of Dharmata in the causal vehicle, but for the appearance of manifest luminosity and the inseparability of emptiness,
