And, regarding things, the way to abandon the notion that something is difficult to do and to initiate diligence is: from the very beginning of generating the supreme Bodhicitta, until the ultimate attainment of unsurpassed Bodhi, one should think in one's mind that it is as easy as passing a single day and night, and be joyful. Then, the way a wise person initiates diligence with the clear light of wisdom should be understood in this way. Although one has continuously experienced unbearable suffering in this beginningless cycle of existence, one has not gained any benefit from it. Since that is the case, if I now cultivate this path that can accomplish great meaning and attain the ultimate result, cultivation will be able to accomplish it, and it will become better and better. So why should I feel weary? If one feels joyful in this way, then by that power, one can overcome the notions of length and difficulty, and even if the time is long, one will increase diligence through a happy means without suffering, with the notion of shortness. It will be like seeing the benefit of a precious jewel and not thinking that the long and difficult road is difficult, but rather generating a happy notion, and so on. Therefore, it should be known that it does not depend on the thing to be done itself, but rather on the power of the mind, that there is a difference between what is difficult to do and what is not difficult to do. It is like Bodhisattvas giving away their bodies and entering the Avici hell for the benefit of others, and also feeling joy and happiness. Second, if someone, etc., are two verses. If someone says this: destroy the king of mountains, Mount Sumeru (Sumeru), and after destroying it you will attain supreme Bodhi, then why would one develop a weary mind because of this, thinking that Mount Sumeru is so huge and solid that it is difficult to destroy? And also thinking about how many years or kalpas it would take to destroy it? Such a discouraged person is actually a manifestation of a Bodhisattva's laziness, because they have lost their joy. Therefore, the Bodhisattva should think like this: if unsurpassed Bodhi can be attained by this much diligence, then it will eventually be possible to gradually destroy it, so what is difficult about this? It is not difficult. Without measuring the length of time, but rather

If one can generate a strong mind of joy, like being able to turn Mount Sumeru into ashes in an instant, then at that time, the bodhisattva who is skilled in what is meaningful and meaningless is truly engaged in diligence. In this way, facing the difficulties of attaining Buddhahood with joy, possessing unwavering diligence, then before long, one will attain the supreme enlightenment that leads, because one possesses the factor for attaining enlightenment—such diligence. Third, it is divided into: what should be abandoned and what should be entered. First, benefiting all beings, etc., one verse. In this way, when starting diligence, if one is attached to something, then because of this attachment, it becomes impure laziness. What is it? If I first ripen all beings in order to benefit others, holding onto appearances in this way, with this concept, if body, speech, and mind are all diligent, because one abides in the concept of self, relative to diligence without an object, it becomes laziness. The reason is that the view of attachment does not make diligence correct, and it falls into its opposite, thus becoming distant from omniscience, just like the sky and the earth are far apart. Second, when the body, etc., one verse. At any time when starting diligence, the author himself has no body and mind, and no concept of other sentient beings, the three wheels of diligence are completely reversed, and one acts in the nature of dharma without limit or self and other, this is the perfection of diligence of the bodhisattvas who desire great enlightenment, the cessation of defilements, and the supreme state that never declines, the Buddhas who benefit beings have said. Third, patience is divided into three: patience of definite conviction in the Dharma, patience of not being weary from harm, and patience of accepting suffering. First, divided into two: the main text and its benefits. First, if from others, etc., one verse. If one hears harsh words such as slander from others, in this way, simply because one has found the object of patience, patience will arise, therefore thinking: this is the cause of my happiness, the bodhisattva with skillful means
