I have become such a person. The second is the two ways of not abandoning effort for the sake of others even when harmed, and constantly striving for the benefit of others. The first is divided into two types: metaphor and meaning. First, being reviled, etc., one verse. Like this, being reviled through speaking evil words, or even constantly being beaten by the body, that maid does not speak words of rebuttal to the master, no matter how anger is shown, the mind does not become angry again towards the master, and thinking, 'If I do something wrong, this master will kill me, I belong to him,' therefore, with a very fearful mind, with fear, listening to orders, that maid is completely suppressed by the master. Second, 'Likewise, Bodhi,' etc., one verse. Just like the metaphor just mentioned, for the sake of unsurpassed Bodhi, those Bodhisattvas who have entered the supreme path of Bodhi should abide as if they have become servants of all beings. The reason is that because these beings are completely taken hold of by compassion, I can attain Bodhi and perfect all qualities, therefore, like a maid, acting in accordance with the wishes of beings. If you do not do so, and become angry with sentient beings, just as fire arises from grass and trees and burns the grass and trees themselves, the fire of your own anger will destroy yourself, and just as you are killed, the life of the path to Bodhi will be cut off. Second, 'My happiness,' etc., one verse. Like this, clinging to self brings all the suffering of samsara, cherishing others brings all the qualities of the Buddha, therefore, knowing these things, abandoning the mind that desires one's own happiness, with a mind that does not expect reward or fruition, day and night diligently accomplishing the needs of other beings, just as a mother serves her only child with a tireless mind in every way, from the depths of your heart, do not be weary of the benefit of sentient beings. Second, non-retrogression, divided into two types: summary and detailed explanation. First, 'Bodhisattva,' etc., one verse. Any Bodhisattva, due to the power of great compassion, revolves in samsara for immeasurable time.

Wishing to stay here and not leave, whatever yogi stays there and strives to benefit sentient beings and purify the land, if not even a speck of aversion arises towards such a situation, then that is possessing the perfection of diligence, and one becomes unscattered in accomplishing the benefit of beings. Secondly, there are two: what is to be abandoned and the antidote. Firstly, the verse beginning with "Bodhisattva": Whatever bodhisattva is unskilled in means, if they count countless eons and think that they will attain unsurpassed enlightenment by striving until this point, if they perceive such a duration as long, and if they strive to attain enlightenment through difficult practices such as giving away their head and limbs, with the thought of suffering, then at the time of accomplishing the true Dharma, unsurpassed enlightenment, due to the power of that very thought, they will suffer for a long time. That kind of conduct deteriorates from the perfection of diligence and becomes laziness. This is because the nature of diligence is joy in virtue, and possessing that joy enables one to engage in that work without fear, but due to thoughts of length, joy diminishes and one becomes sluggish. Even in the world, when there is strong joy for some purpose, one happily travels a hundred leagues, but when joy is absent, one looks upon even traveling a single league with aversion. Therefore, through the skillful means of wisdom that realizes emptiness and great compassion combined, one should perfect, mature, and purify sentient beings to the extent that the realm of sentient beings is equal to the ultimate limit of immeasurability, and generate the thought that one should do so without limit or end. That is the armor-like diligence of a bodhisattva. Therefore, by entering through such armor, just as one becomes familiar with the path, diligence increases in that way, becoming immeasurable and boundless. One should understand this as being like the liberation of Manjushri and others, and enter in that way. Secondly, there are two: establishing it in terms of time and establishing it in terms of things. Firstly, the verse beginning with "Supreme Enlightenment": Like that, being long in time
