That's how it's done. However, considering that person's past merits and present faith, etc., one should know that depending on whether or not one becomes an object of the Buddha's blessing, various situations arise as to whether or not obstacles occur. Second, like the verse "If the mother is old," the reason why the Buddha protects is that, for example, if the mother is old and has many sons, those sons are not at ease and serve the mother in the same way, so are the Buddhas of the ten directions. They think of their own mother, the supreme wisdom. Fourth, explaining the function of combination, it is divided into the activity of producing one's own sons and the activity of combining one's own sons with merits. First, like the two lines "All those past," as just said, if this is called the Buddha-mother, then how does it become a mother? Just as a mother gives birth to a child in the world, and after giving birth, arranges for work, here too, all the Buddhas, the lords of the world, the Bhagavat, who dwell in all the realms of the ten directions in the past and present, and how many Buddhas will appear in the future, all of them arise from this Prajnaparamita, therefore it is the mother of all the Buddhas of the three times. Second, it is divided into three types: combining with the knowledge of the principles of the base, wheel, and nirvana, combining with the activity of the fruit—omniscient knowledge, and combining with the principle of preventing the two extremes. First, there are two types: becoming proficient in the two truths of the world by relying on Prajnaparamita, and obtaining a name by realizing Suchness. First, like the one and a half verses "The world shows," the world refers to the aggregates, realms, and sources, etc. How is the nature of the cause and effect and essence of the names of all these dharmas shown by Prajnaparamita to its own sons, the Buddhas? That is, relying on the mother of the Buddhas, Prajnaparamita, those Buddhas see those dharmas as if they were placing a fresh emblic myrobalan in the palm of their hand.

Furthermore, to engage in activities for the benefit of sentient beings, it is necessary to specifically distinguish that the realms of sentient beings are limitless. The mental activities of others, whether internalized, externalized, with attachment, or without attachment, are boundless. However, through the power of habituation to the Prajñāpāramitā, one can teach one's own disciples, which is the teaching of conventional truth. The suchness of the five aggregates, as well as the suchness of Arhats, the suchness of Pratyekabuddhas, and the suchness of Bodhisattva Mahāsattvas, are not established as separate entities, therefore they are of one nature. However, all of these are devoid of inherent existence, and therefore do not exist in this or that, hence they are called suchness. Suchness, the reality of all the fully enlightened dharmas, is known by the Tathāgata and fully realized as it is. Thus, these two and a half verses, relying on the Prajñāpāramitā, in summary, all the dharmas of the two truths are seen by the Tathāgata. Secondly, "Wise ones, the world," etc., one verse. Just as in the world a mother gives a name to her child, relying on the mother of the Victorious Ones, the name Tathāgata is obtained. The wise Buddhas abide in this world, whether they live or pass into Nirvana, the nature of dharma is flawless, and whatever is said about the emptiness of all dharmas, this is unchanging, cannot be disturbed by anyone, and abides like the sky. Bodhisattvas, with their innate purity of suchness, follow and understand with wisdom without error, and when that understanding is perfected, then suchness is gone as it is, or realized as it is, therefore the Buddhas are honored with the name Tathāgata. Secondly, the method of combining with the fruit of omniscience. Relying on the Prajñāpāramitā, the two benefits are accomplished, especially the method of teaching the Dharma for the benefit of others. The first, "Wisdom gone to the other shore," etc., one verse. If one abides in the Prajñāpāramitā, then endless joy free from defilements arises, like a garden of joy in the heavenly realm, relying on it and abiding, strength.
