Merely the continuation of giving up hope. If even meditating on deities and reciting mantras is just self-deception, What need is there to speak of other actions of samsara? If you are skilled in how to abide authentically, that alone, Will dispel all despair, and without accomplishing, all aims will be accomplished. If you become authentic, and no disturbances arise, What need is there to even speak of view, meditation, and mantra recitation? Even striving in the actions of samsara will increase well-being and excellence. Without making the All-Creating King (Tibetan: ཀུན་བྱེད་རྒྱལ་པོ།), spontaneously accomplished, If you know how to grasp samsara and nirvana without any effort, There are no deities, no mantras, and nothing to be accomplished. Only the Primordial King (Tibetan: གཉུག་མའི་རྒྱལ་པོ།) will satisfy you. When you wield power over all His dharmas, Even the lives of deities and dakinis will be under your control. In the realm of existence, you will be unmatched in greatness and power. The Lotus King (Tibetan: པདྨ་རྒྱལ་པོ།) will rule the kingdom of the sky. Samaya. Fire Bird Year, 12th month, 18th day. Mangalam! Instructions for Beginners. Alas! All actions of samsara have no essence. Unstable and moving, like an illusion of lightning. There is no certainty when death will come, In any case, reduce attachment to death. Take the guru's instructions as the core point, With one-pointedness, in solitude, make a firm decision. The mind is like lightning, a rainbow, and clouds, Confused by countless thoughts and concepts. If examined carefully, there is no basis at all, Empty in nature, like a mirage in the sky. Appearing in emptiness, and emptiness in appearing, Let the mind remain in its natural state, abiding authentically. If habit is stable, you will see the nature of your own mind. If you have strong devotion to the guru, blessings will enter. If you accumulate merit and purify obscurations, realization will arise. Therefore, strive diligently to practice. Mipham Rinpoche wrote these instructions as advice for some who say that beginners need to be given practice instructions. Good! Mangalam! The nature of one's own mind is clear light, without impurity. The Protector always abides in great bliss, The source of all inexhaustible qualities, May Manjushri, the Youthful, grant auspiciousness. Alas! Think well, excellent friends. Here, the so-called happiness and suffering, The agent who always makes choices of acceptance and rejection, Is none other than the conceptual mind of oneself. One's own conceptual mind judges happiness and suffering, To that, Attachment always binds and torments. In existence, which is like a dream, suffering continues, Experiencing it again and again, do you not grow weary? One's own mind

However it may be in happiness, it is happiness. However it may be in suffering of one's own mind, it is suffering. Although external conditions are given as excuses, in reality, it is just whatever the mind establishes. Whatever one is attached to, that itself is seen as good. Even if the object of attachment has no qualities, it appears as if it does. If the mind is not satisfied, then even if others have qualities such as appearance, it will not be pleasing. The habitual conceptualization is like the tip of a kusha grass, even if the appearance of conditions is moved by a small hailstone, it has the power of a thousand unstoppable elephants. Don't you know to control yourself internally? Whatever happiness and suffering are experienced, if the mind does not experience it, what benefit or harm is there? Whatever the mind experiences is just a transformation of one's own mind. In that, what is there to be experienced, the experiencer, benefit, or harm? However, without examining the magic of one's own mind, the wheel of grasping and attachment of dualistic conceptualization turns without interruption. Don't you know that meaningless self-torment is great? If the mind is examined, its essence is beyond identification. Without beginning or end, like an illusion, like a mirage, it appears, but in its nature, it is slightly unestablished, each one knows for themselves. At that time, all the appearances of the three realms are just the self-appearance of the mind, the doer. Like a dream, it appears without coming or going. Alas, look at the true face of the illusory mind! The beginningless and endless ocean of samsara, full of suffering, with no end to be found, that great commotion is not in any other direction. It is the trickery of one's own false mind! All compounded things are momentary and moving, impossible to accumulate, naturally disintegrating like lightning. Look at how the appearances of happiness and suffering in all directions and times, without a beginning, have become! Likewise, in the continuation of the future, the appearances of existence are also of the nature of disintegration. In such deception of compounded things, what is there to permanently trust? Whatever arises here dependently, by the power of the non-deceptive, all the successive appearances of the three times, if examined well, are unborn and unceasing, merely appearing as an empty, illusory display. In that, there is no going or coming, one and many, self and other are not perceived. The realm of activity of elaboration such as permanence and annihilation cannot be established. All phenomena are equal in their own nature, there is nothing to be accepted or rejected, all...
