Descend. This is the true meaning, because the other. Cannot harm, therefore again and again. With such wisdom, the wheel of Dharma is turned without interruption. It gradually cuts through the net of afflictions. Likewise, towards objects of hatred and so on. Analyze and examine, without autonomy. Having understood the nature of arising from conditions. Until the moment afflictions arise. Such examination is also like competing with it. Do not abandon effort, practice again and again. In this, there is only examination, nothing else. Abiding and meditating, nothing else is needed. The more you examine, the more certainty arises. The more certainty, the more afflictions are detached. Like the nature of light and darkness. Separate examination harms the side of afflictions. Such a way of proper attention. Even if momentarily attentive, how so? Like medicine for illness, correspondingly. Making the power of the cunning afflictions diminish. Inverted thoughts are like cunning thieves. If you know the nature, there is no power at all. If you don't know, then this habitual force is controlled by it. Abiding for a long time, Therefore, although it cannot be reversed immediately. But truth and falsehood, like light and darkness. The nature of the power is different. If you do not abandon proper attention. Then in a short time, make the great enemy powerless. Therefore, when afflicted by the multitude of afflictions. There is no opportunity for the multitude of happiness to arise. Like medicine for illness, the wisdom of separate examination. Like fire burning the multitude of firewood of afflictions. After grasping the characteristics of various objects. Hundreds of discriminations of taking and abandoning around. Constantly rotating like a wheel. In this life and the next, countless faults arise. Thus, inverted discriminations. Like the ripples of a river, will not be exhausted. You increase it day by day, and enjoy it. Why not enjoy introducing right view? If you have forgotten proper examination. Seeing the thought of afflictions, you should remember. Like seeing an enemy and taking up weapons. Rely on this and be diligent about it. With the power of examining the true meaning. Without obstruction, certainty arises continuously. Abiding in the happiness where afflictions are naturally small. If touched, it is not difficult to find a peaceful mind. With proper attention, the nature of afflictions. The essence, the essence is empty.

Therefore. All phenomena, like illusions arising from interdependence, are easily understood as lacking inherent existence. The mind that has pacified the waves of afflictions becomes like an unmoving ocean. Having gained control of the mind, one can freely engage in all virtuous aims. The mind that has cleared away the darkness of afflictions becomes like a sky free of clouds. Relying on calm abiding, the suchness of things, one abides on the correct path with special insight. Thus, merely practicing analysis is the method for accomplishing calm abiding, which is the path of insight. In this world, entering into this great meaning, I, the wise one who desires meditation, should contemplate. Then, like a person free from illness, a fortunate one with balanced three poisons, with supreme joy in the correct path, one should meditate and contemplate the reality of things. Just as nothing is established with inherent existence, this unobstructed appearance due to the power of interdependence is seen with the immaculate eye of wisdom, like a dream, a water moon, or a mirage. Then, with non-conceptual wisdom that transcends the net of thoughts of emptiness and non-emptiness, one sees the meaning of the great non-abiding Middle Way, the Dharmadhatu, Having attained self-awareness that is unwavering, if one practices the path of uniting the two accumulations as it is said in the Perfection of Wisdom or the Vajrayana, then one will accomplish the supreme first, possessing the three bodies. May all beings, through the virtue of this well-spoken word, dispel the defilements of their minds, realize the meaning of the naturally luminous original essence, and become possessors of the nature of the five Buddha bodies! This "Wheel of Analytical Meditation" was written by Mipham in the early morning session of the 18th day of the 10th month of the Iron Rabbit year, in the accomplishment chamber of Dudul Namgyal, while the Rigdzin Lama was engaged in practice. May it be virtuous! The Mirror of Clear Advice to One's Own Mind. The supreme refuge, the Three Jewels, the Lama who is the embodiment of the Three Roots, the wise Dharma Lord (referring to the author's guru). With unwavering heart, I respectfully rely on the lotus of my heart, and offer this advice to myself. In this life and the next, there is no other cause of harm than the five great poisons of affliction. It is best if these are liberated in their own place, and it is good if they are even slightly diminished from before, but if one has not crushed the peak of the five poisons,
