How will it be? If the cause has no change at all, how can it be the same later as it was before? Just as the sky does not produce a lotus, similarly, a permanent cause cannot produce an impermanent effect, like the son of an unrelated widow. Some say that this diverse world arises from a causeless nature. Because no causeless thing is seen in the world, this contradicts direct perception, so why speak of causelessness? If it is necessarily causeless, then the effects do not depend on causes, why doesn't darkness arise from a candle, and a lotus from the sky? Why don't all things exist at all times? Or why doesn't anything arise from causes, like a lotus in the sky? All things that arise in dependence on causes will always cease to exist. If that were the case, in the world, all efforts such as planting seeds for fruit would become meaningless, who would engage in them? Therefore, even though there is no one in this world who speaks without error about the nature of things, free from the extremes of permanence and annihilation, the great ascetic said this: All phenomena arise from causes, the cause and the path to eliminate it, through dependent origination, existence arises and ceases. From a complete cause, what can prevent the fruit from arising? Where the cause is incomplete, why does the fruit arise? Thus, through the interdependence of cause and condition, the wheel of existence is well transmitted. Its root is ignorance, and it is reversed by proper knowledge. Here there is no self, like the way recitation, candle, mirror, crystal, burning glass, seed, sourness, and sound, the aggregates connect. Whatever are the natures of things, all of them arise dependently. Non-things rely on things, and are nominally designated through the door of distinctions. Therefore, there is no knowable that is not dependently originated, and whatever arises dependently is empty of truth. Those things that arise from conditions are free from coming and going, completely abandoning independence, their nature is unestablished, they are artificial shells, and there is no difference from illusions and the like. Whatever arises from dependence is only emptiness, and having seen that emptiness arises as appearance, it is the equality of appearance and emptiness.

Is definitive understanding. This is truly the supreme view, This supreme wisdom is taught by the Victorious One, Whoever abides in this goes on the path of the Victorious Ones. This is the unsurpassed speech, From this arises faith in the supreme teacher. You, in many past eons, again and again, Having given up many precious lives, have held, This precious Dharma, the ultimate essence, With loving heart, you advise all beings. Like space, no obstructive objects abide, Likewise, the mind that has abandoned all obscurations, All that is knowable, the entire sphere, Seeing without attachment or obstruction, I prostrate to you. The very essence of all that is knowable without exception, In the Dharmadhatu of emptiness and equality, Manifestly enlightened, the great essence of Vajra, Self-born wisdom body, I prostrate to you. Thus, with great reverence in mind, at the lotus feet that please the Victorious Sun, Bowing with my head, scattering well the flower of words that praise the meaning. By this virtue, in all lifetimes, the unequaled Shakya Lion, Having been embraced, may I attain the supreme state of perfect enlightenment. Here, consumed by the fire of desire, delusion, hatred, and fear, May this praise of all beings accomplish the work of the Teacher, Having understood the reason for the supreme Teacher, with faith in his teachings, Having entered well into practice, taking it to heart, may I dispel fear and affliction. Whoever even hears a word of this, In the fully blossomed lotus of the heart, May the sun of wisdom of Gentle Protector fully shine, May the light of incomparable wisdom increase and expand. Thus, this praise to our teacher, the perfectly complete Buddha, the unequaled Shakya King, This was written spontaneously, without being urged by others, with immeasurable reverence, remembering a little of the Teacher's liberation in my mind, The author's name is Mipham Lodrö Trimé, written when he was young. Mangalam! Verses of Praise and Aspiration for Miraculous Manifestations. The supreme Teacher, in the manner of wondrous miraculous manifestations, Remembering what was taught, I prostrate with reverence. A tooth-stick planted in the ground, the wish-fulfilling great tree grows, 2 On the right and left, jewel mountains, possessing wonders, Satisfying with fruits and abundant roots and leaves, a cool pond at the feet, 3 a pleasing lotus,
