Existing there, Remaining there is like one's own horses and cows in a dream. Upon careful examination, the ultimate of the dependent origination of inner imprints is the essence of the tenets of inner Buddhism. Mind itself is the sentient world, and so on. Therefore, in samsara, one is bound by the power of one's own mind, and liberation is when one's own mind is liberated. Not by Ishvara or others, binding or liberating, this is proven by fact. Due to the power of habit, some perceive a single fire as hot, some as not hot, some as comfortable, and some as burning, like humans and fire gods, and so on. Similarly, regarding external objects, one can immediately use mantras, etc., to make fire not hot and poison harmless. However, these also do not transcend temporary dependent origination. Ultimately, the container and its contents are arranged by karma, and that is also done by the mind. As it says, "From karma and afflictions, conceptual thoughts," and so on. Therefore, the method for liberation from samsara is to reverse elaboration, and realizing that which reverses it is established. Elaboration is the self-power of one's own mind, due to the power of clinging to various appearances. Therefore, it is said, "Suffering arises from clinging." If so, from where does the elaboration of grasper and grasped arise? It arises from the mind, that is, the mind itself has the nature of grasper and grasped. From where does the mind arise? It arises from the realm of clear light. As it says in the Uttaratantra, "Earth depends on water," and so on. Therefore, the teaching point of the sutras, both higher and lower, is as it says in the tantras, "From where all three realms of existence transform," and so on. If one were to determine the ultimate way of transformation, then in Dzogchen, from "The first ground, which is neither samsara nor nirvana," it explains how "the path becomes samsara and nirvana," thereby settling the ultimate. Therefore, if one says that sentient beings and Buddhas are earlier or later, apart from the Buddhas who were sentient beings before, if there is no primordial protector who has never been deluded, then one must accept that sentient beings are earlier. If so, the fault of being equally deluded without a guide will necessarily follow. Therefore, one should say that Buddhas and sentient beings are not earlier or later, because the first sentient being is deluded at the same time as the first Buddha is liberated. Although the beginning of liberation and delusion cannot be grasped by conceptual thought.
