If it is thought that such a method of proof will not occur because there is no term to change, is that not inevitable? That is very true. We also very much acknowledge that the wisdom of ultimate truth prevents the two selfs, but does not prevent phenomena and persons. If that is the case, is it not contradictory to say that the wisdom must prevent the phenomena of terms and establish emptiness? Where is it? The reason for that is that if it is measured by the wisdom of terms, it is certain to be so. When the wisdom of ultimate truth examines the phenomena of terms, and destroys and establishes emptiness, then for any phenomenon of terms that is established by being examined, nothing is established, and the terms are unexaminable. If it is established by being examined, then it becomes truly established, and it becomes a self that exists by its own nature. Even if it is examined, it cannot be established. Or, when the wisdom of ultimate truth does not find it, or does not observe it, then the meaning of selflessness and untruth and the term are established without fault. Phenomena and persons are not prevented, because persons and phenomena exist in terms, and are the object of examination by the wisdom of ultimate truth, and are the means of realizing ultimate truth, so those that exist in the face of term wisdom are never prevented or refuted by the wisdom of ultimate truth. If only the wisdom of ultimate truth is used, then no person or phenomenon can be established in the face of that wisdom. Other than not finding or observing it, there is no prevention, or no elimination, and it is impossible to examine it even a little. If it is possible, then the two selfs cannot be refuted either. Therefore, like the fact that it is refuted in the face of ultimate truth wisdom, but not refuted in the face of term wisdom, this is not understood by the proponents of reality. They think that if it is empty, it cannot appear, and if it appears, it cannot be empty, and therefore they slander emptiness. However, in ultimate truth, the nature of phenomena like a vase is not observed, so it is established as emptiness. Although it is established in that way, it will never return from being unestablished. In terms, relying on the power of dependent arising, it appears infallibly, and this does not need to be cut off. Therefore, appearing while being empty, and the non-contradiction of appearance and emptiness, which is empty while appearing, is established by the nature of things, and no one can deny this. Because it is established by the nature of things, it does not need to be established by other reasons. Like the heat of fire and the wetness of water, because this is the nature of things, form is emptiness, or emptiness is form, and so on.

The meaning of the four unions is realized. In the Mind Commentary, it is said that the nature of fire, such as heat, is explained as emptiness of nature. The sutra says, "Emptiness does not make all phenomena empty, but phenomena are empty by their own nature." It should be understood as such. If one understands it as the extent of emptiness not appearing and the extent of appearance not being empty, and seeks other reasons for emptiness and reasons for refutation, it seems that one will be far from realizing the meaning of emptiness. From the mouth of Omniscient Changkya Rolpai Dorje, it is said, "Now we, etc." This is said to give a very important instruction to those who seek the meaning of emptiness, although I think so, but what about others? If one understands it as just said, the field of understanding of emptiness, dependent origination, and union seems to appear easily, but like me, a sentient being of a degenerate age, with little innate learning, it is difficult to understand the profound meaning. If it does not accord with the minds of those who hold prophecies, it is enough to put it down, just frankly stating my own understanding. Please do not think of it as a refutation, please contemplate the nature of things. Mangalam! Again, regarding "non-inherent existence is not the ultimate reality," in general, the undifferentiated truth, each known by self-awareness, free from all elaboration, although established as the ultimate reality, this does not mean that it is not a general reality. However, this "non-inherent existence" that you consider, if it is not a reality established from the perspective of conventional truth, let alone the ultimate reality? Because in your school, you acknowledge that everything that exists in conventional truth does not lack its own nature, and you believe that what is empty is inherent existence that is different from this. Therefore, such "emptiness of inherent existence" will not become the reality of all phenomena, because in your school, everything that exists in conventional truth does not contradict ultimate truth, and its own nature is not empty. You acknowledge that the extent to which ultimate truth is refuted and the extent of emptiness do not appear in conventional truth, which is equivalent to acknowledging that what is empty is something that does not exist in conventional truth. Then, how can it become the nature of phenomena that exist in conventional truth? Just as a rabbit's horn is not the reality of all phenomena. In short, the main arguments are all contained here. Even if one understands such emptiness, the clinging to reality towards phenomena will not be destroyed at all, and appearance and emptiness will not be understood as non-contradictory and of one taste.
