observing, there is no difference between the two. Therefore, the so-called "true establishment" refers to the name given to what is observed or found through meaning analysis. Although there is a difference in words, in terms of meaning, not finding a vase through meaning analysis is the same as not finding true establishment. On the level of nominal designation, the vase exists, and the vase is considered to be truly established. However, this does not negate its non-existence in the ultimate sense. Even if the vase does not exist in the ultimate sense, it cannot be denied that it is merely an appearance of dependent origination. Therefore, although there is no true establishment in the ultimate sense, it cannot be said that the vase exists nominally, because meaning analysis does not observe either of the two truths. Therefore, as it is said, "It is not appropriate to reason in nominal terms..." and "That unborn is the world born, the wise should know." Therefore, it is necessary to realize that the appearance of birth and the non-birth in the ultimate sense are a non-contradictory union. If it is said that a dharma that does not exist nominally is emptiness, and a dharma that exists nominally is not emptiness, how can these two become a single manifestation with the same meaning of emptiness and dependent origination? This is like a rabbit without horns, which cannot appear on the horns of a cow. End. Haha! Summarizing the main points: I ask you, the reasoner: You think that the vase and its true establishment are different. If they are different entities, then true establishment will become substantial. If it exists only through imputation, just as the vase is impermanent, and is different through different aspects, then the vase will become truly established. Just as the vase is empty of permanence, the true establishment similar to permanence will become imputedly existent. Even if it does not exist on the vase, it may exist on other dharmas, just as space is permanent. Since true establishment is a baseless fabrication, if you think that the vase and true establishment are a difference or different only through negation, then since it has already been realized that true establishment is a baseless fabrication, why should you still use ultimate reasoning to negate the vase? Just like the vase is empty of rabbit horns, just like merely establishing the name that there are no rabbit horns on the vase. The appearances of the objects of fabricated inverted consciousness, whether established as one or established as different from the basis of fabrication, are established by reason according to the general doctrine. In this way, why not say that the vase is emptied by true establishment that is neither one nor different? Other

Now, do ordinary beings perceive a pot and its true existence as one, or as different entities? Since it is negated by not perceiving it as other, there is no need to specifically refute it with ultimate analysis. When examining whether the 'I' or self, which is the object of clinging of innate self-grasping, is one with or different from the aggregates, it is like being refuted by not perceiving it as other. Everyone must acknowledge that the five aggregates are empty of a self of a person. But according to your view, it must be acknowledged that the self of a person other than the aggregates makes the five aggregates empty. In terms of conventional analysis, a pot is not empty of a pot, but is empty of true existence. Similarly, there is no contradiction in merely stating that things like cloth and other phenomena, as well as things like rabbit horns and the offspring of barren women, are empty. However, stating such a way of acknowledging things when analyzing emptiness and non-emptiness with ultimate analysis is like irrelevant talk that is out of place, confusing the understanding of emptiness. But since this is an assertion of the great Gelug scholars that has not been put forth by other Madhyamikas, it would be very wonderful if one could understand it after investigation, and I think there must still be something to understand. The necessity of establishing emptiness is to eliminate the imputation of true existence, or self of phenomena, or essence, onto conventional phenomena. It seems that one must analyze and examine the phenomena that exist conventionally in order to prove emptiness. If one proves it in this way, then emptiness, non-reality, non-essence, and selflessness seem to be easily established. However, if one acknowledges that conventional phenomena are not empty of their own nature and are therefore not refuted by ultimate analysis, and then says that one must use reason to refute another imputation of true existence onto phenomena that do not exist conventionally, then this way of explaining things, where ultimate analysis is ineffective, is like "digging a hole in one's own house to attract snakes." But I think there must be an even deeper way of explaining things in your teachings. I do not intend to refute, but rather to explain the reasoning, and I want to generate in myself and others an understanding of emptiness, which is the root of the path to liberation. In this way, ultimate analysis refutes the self of persons and the self of phenomena, but it is not necessary to negate persons and phenomena, because nega
