There is no page in original text. There is no page in original text.

If it is not empty, then what is there to say? Is it desired to withstand scrutiny? If it is said that true establishment is negated, then it is understood that conventional truth is not negated. If it is negated without adding that distinction, wouldn't it become that the nature of conventional truth is negated by the investigation of meaning? Saying that conventional truth is negated by the investigation of meaning is not the same as negating its existence by investigating conventional truth, because the latter negation is to establish that those phenomena do not exist as entities in ultimate truth. Therefore, it is necessary to negate with the investigation of meaning, because if it is not negated, the nature of conventional truths and true establishment will not be refuted. Because that kind of reasoning is also unreasonable in conventional truth, it is said that both truths do not arise. By clinging to extremes with the investigation of meaning, rather than holding onto a meaningful tenet that benefits the path of liberation, but please each be pleased with your own system. However, saying that the distinction of true establishment can never be established, and that true establishment has become the object to be refuted, etc., are not things that any Madhyamika would say. Although there are many situations where it is easier to understand if it is established in that way. A vase is not empty by a vase, a vase is empty by true establishment. All phenomena of conventional truth are not empty from their own side, but are empty from the other, true establishment. With this special way of expressing it, when establishing the conventional truth of emptiness of true existence, the vase, the subject, is not truly existent. When establishing it, the basis of emptiness is the vase, the object to be refuted is emptiness by true establishment, although it is thought of in this way, but when establishing conventional truth, like a rabbit's horn, the subject, is not existent, because it is not perceived by valid cognition. Like this, from the aspect of words, the differences of the three aspects are distinguished and expressed separately, if it is allowed in this way, what contradiction is there even if the influence of the words is said to be other-emptiness? The true nature of the meaning There is no page in original text. There is no page in original text.appears. Now, even when investigating whether the nature of conventional truth exists or not, like a vase, it is divided into parts such as the mouth and belly, and investigated like grinding minute particles. Just as the slightest nature of the possessor of parts and the parts cannot be found, the appearance of the vase does not disappear, this is believed without contradiction by the nature of things, thereby clarifying the nature of conventional truth.

If the appearance of conventional terms is manifestly established without the slightest obstruction, then, in this case, when analyzed with reason, there are two: the emptiness that empties another thing to be refuted, and the appearance of conventional terms such as a pot, which is not empty in its own nature, which is not refuted by ultimate analysis. Just as a pot is empty of phelgm, and a cow's horn is empty of a rabbit's horn, to regard the mere gathering together of two different dharmas, like black and white threads twisted together, as the meaning of emptiness, dependent arising, and union, seems to be a strange view that even Nagarjuna and Chandrakirti and other emptiness masters have not put forward. If one meditates in this way, one will not be able to destroy the grasping at reality in external and internal dharmas. If one grasps that all the reasoning of the Middle Way does not establish the self-emptiness of conventional dharmas from the point of view of the establishment of words, then many great faults will arise as above. Therefore, this is not merely a verbal dispute, but an important matter for those who are devoted to emptiness to consider, and therefore I have summarized the key points in this way, not because I want to refute other systems. In short, this way of negating by distinguishing the object to be negated by true establishment is emphasized by the wise teachers of the Svatantrika school, so even if it is done in this way, there is not much contradiction in meaning, and it has the advantage of being easy to appear in the minds of beginners. Therefore, it is not negated in every way that it should not be admitted in this way, and it is difficult to show the reason for making a complete determination. Therefore, according to the tenets of the Svatantrika school, those who want to say so should hold it in that way, or it is good to think in their minds that all dharmas are not truly established, but if the distinction of true establishment is not made, the wisdom and acceptance will become coarser and coarser, and in the end, the understanding of emptiness will become inverted, and one should not deviate from the yoga that is beneficial to one's own mind stream by meditating on emptiness. For example, with regard to objects of attachment and aversion, rather than merely thinking in one's mind that that object is not truly established, it is better to determine that any object is without self-nature, as in the ultimate analysis. Similarly, when meditating on ultimate emptiness, that object and appearance itself is not established as that thing.
