There is no need to add distinctions such as truly established. Appearance and emptiness are inseparable, like the heat of fire, appearing without its own essence being established. If it does not become free from extremes and elaborations, it will fall upon the Svatantrika school. If names are established after analysis, they will become like the names of the Svatantrika school. May Manjushri's wisdom clearly distinguish! If it is said that conventional truth is not true when analyzed, then if emptiness is not truly established, ultimate truth will also become a false lie when analyzed. One will never find what is not false and what is true. The Blessed One said, "Which dharma is..." etc., quoting the teachings of the Root Wisdom. Absence of inherent existence is truth, therefore it is the reality. When meditating on it, if one does not prevent the clinging to emptiness, according to that way, by the method of eliminating it, establishing that there is true emptiness on the vase, in this way, where something is not, it is empty of that, and what remains is what exists, it becomes definitive meaning. If it is said that the absence of inherent existence is the absence of essence, merely a designation, then it is also established that it is not the ultimate reality. Is emptiness said to have an object or not? If not, then no one can understand it, etc., the fault-finding will return to oneself. If there is an object, then by what valid cognition is it apprehended? If it is apprehended by reasoning and meditative equipoise in ultimate truth, then it will be established as ultimate truth. If it exists in the face of ultimate analysis, but does not become truly established, then it should become unbearable to ultimate analysis. If one accepts this, it will become conventional truth. Ultimate truth is never found. Furthermore, emptiness is unconditioned, and investigation into causes, etc., is not applicable. An indivisible essence cannot be subjected to analysis of one or many, therefore it is established as being able to be analyzed. If it is said that emptiness is established by the force of cutting off the object to be negated, but its own essence is not established in any way, then it is established, because it is only established as the absence of inherent existence. If it is said that even that is not established, then the vow not to turn back from the absence of inherent existence, and the throwing of ashes that ultimate truth is completely non-existent, both of these are destroyed. If it is said that merely the absence of inherent existence is established as the reality of all phenomena, then, as mentioned above, that has already been established as being able to be analyzed. For those who hold ultimate truth to be an object, even if they grasp it as non-existent in the aspect of negation, in the aspect of establishment, the nature of being existent will be indirectly established, therefore the intention of the other party is refuted, and one's own system cannot be established, because as long as there is acceptance, it cannot be separated from the object, and as long as it is not separated from the object, then

Whatever affirmation or negation is promised, it has the fault of being refuted by reasoning. Therefore, regarding the ultimate reality, there is no commitment or aim other than to be known by each individual's self-awareness. If, like Manjushri's questions, one cannot go beyond commitment, then the sons of the Buddhas should not remain without speaking any kind of commitment. The Buddhas should not speak of transcending the realm of speech, thought, and expression, and transcending the realm of the supreme wisdom that possesses all aspects. If they were to speak in that way, it would lead to the fault of the ultimate truth being completely non-existent. Therefore, thinking that if one transcends the realm of conceptual thought, it would lead to the ultimate truth being completely non-existent is a shameful statement. If one transcends the realm of conceptual thought, it would lead to the ultimate truth being completely non-existent, because it is said with the thought that the ultimate truth must be an object knowable by conceptual thought. As it is said in the Ornament of Clear Realization: "Why is the profound not the object of conceptual thought? Why is that activity said to be a place of fear? Therefore, the laws of others are all far away from this." And "Beings are delighted in places, and attachment is inverted. The profound is not the object of children, so it should be abandoned." And so on, it is clearly taking upon oneself the meaning of what should be abandoned. If the dharmadhatu transcends the extremes of existence and non-existence, then it is permissible for the wisdom of conceptual thought to be inconceivable. Since there is a commitment to either existence or non-existence, what reason is there for it not to be inconceivable, not to be an object of knowledge, and not to be an object of wisdom? To say that it is beyond speech, thought, and expression, and without elaboration, is meaningless; one must add words and thoughts such as "truly established." If that is the case, if one does not say "truly established," there is no contradiction in merely speaking, thinking, and expressing about a pot, because they exist on the level of emptiness. Emptiness does not prevent any elaboration of conditioned or unconditioned phenomena, but only prevents the single phenomenon of "truly established," and that is prevented through the door of conceptual thought. Because non-conceptual thought cannot measure emptiness, it must be explained how non-conceptual thought grasps the nature of non-inherent existence from the conceptual thought that grasps the object to be negated, the cutting off, and the turning back. If emptiness itself, as its own object, is perceived or appears to the wisdom of the noble one's meditative equipoise, then it will become an object that can be analyzed.
