Since it is impossible for a result different from itself to arise, if one asks, "How do you accept the arising of a result?" The answer is: the arising of a result is merely the unfailing appearance of dependent origination. If analyzed in terms of existence and non-existence, it is accepted as being like an illusion, which cannot be established. It is impossible for it to be both existent and non-existent, because they are mutually contradictory. It is also impossible for it to be neither existent nor non-existent, because if it contradicts reality, the three skandhas cannot exist. So, just as it is impossible for it to be non-dual in this case, in the context of freedom from the four extremes, it is also not the nature of non-duality. Just as one accepts "not existent, not non-existent" without distinguishing, if it contradicts reality, the three skandhas cannot exist, so understanding reality through two negations, and since there is no way to understand "this is the meaning" for what is nothing, not accepting anything is like the view of evil trickery. If one thinks like this, one cannot determine that this is one's own system. Novices and those of little wisdom may think like this, but it is not so. As long as there is a basis for an object of focus, it is impossible to have a simultaneous grasping that reverses all four extremes. Therefore, one accepts any one by distinguishing, and focuses on it with grasping, and that does not go beyond the nature of conceptual thought. For freedom from elaboration, where all objects of focus are pacified, there is no object of focus or acceptance of any of the four extremes. However, this is not like the darkness of not realizing that very nature, nor is it like a state of mindlessness. Since it is difficult to express with examples and words, for freedom from elaboration that is difficult to speak of, difficult to think of, and difficult to express, each person thoroughly distinguishes with their own wisdom, severing the rope of doubt, whatever non-conceptual wisdom, even without a grasper and grasped, exists like daylight because of its self-luminous nature. Analyzing the essence, devoid of one and many: Regarding the essence of conditioned and unconditioned phenomena, one should first examine whether there is a truly existent "one." Regarding the five aggregates of conditioned phenomena, form can be analyzed by dividing it into above, below, directions, intermediate directions, and center. For example, a pot is merely imputed as "one" on many bases of imputation, so a truly existent "one" cannot be established. Its parts are also the same as this. The body and limbs can also be divided into parts in this way. In short, the basis of all form phenomena composed of particles can be broken down to the level of atoms. Above the atom

If the wheel rotates, if each face exists, it is infinitely divisible, and if it does not exist, even the accumulation of minute particles will not increase in size, as explained earlier. All forms lack a single, true existence. The eight or six consciousnesses also do not establish a single, true existence because they arise and cease from the aggregation of various minds and mental factors, various aspects of objects, and the four conditions. By examining how even the extremely subtle, indivisible moment cannot be established by things that arise and cease from causes, all phenomena encompassed by form and consciousness lack a single, true existence. Non-associated compositional factors are merely imputed upon the state of form and consciousness and have no inherent nature. Unconditioned phenomena are merely imputed upon the aspect of eliminating what is to be negated and do not exist by their own nature. In short, a single, true existence is not established for all conditioned and unconditioned phenomena. Because it is not established, the many that arise from one are also not established. Because it is pervasive that there is no other way to establish truth apart from truth established as one and different. Persons and phenomena are established as lacking their own inherent nature, as explained in detail in the Ornament of the Middle Way. The great reasoning of dependent origination that universally examines everything is: all phenomena do not arise from their own nature, but arise from the aggregation of causes and conditions, and do not arise without causes. Even when they appear, they appear without their own nature being established, because they are the fabrication of causes and conditions, like an image. It is appearance without inherent existence, free from the elaborations of permanence and annihilation, coming and going, arising and ceasing, and one and different. Thus, if it accords with the nature of things, and if measured by the reasoning that examines ultimate truth, apart from the infallible arising from dependence, if birth, existence, non-existence, permanence, impermanence, etc., of the four extremes and four alternatives are established as true in any way, the conventions of terminology cannot be established, and therefore it would become a slander of all terminology. Like the unreal and illusory, the appearance of dependent origination and emptiness become one meaning. In the Madhyamaka school, all the mere appearances of terminology are very reasonable, so worldly terminology and the establishment of the Four Noble Truths and the Three Jewels, etc., which are beyond the world.
