If one thinks that the truth will become one, then, dividing the truth into two is the method to enter the only truth, the ultimate truth, the equality of the Dharmadhatu, so it is meaningful. The ultimate truth, the equality that all dharmas are originally peaceful, unborn, and unceasing, is what the Victor (Buddha) himself declared, and the great chariot masters have also proven it in the treatises. Thus, when one obtains forbearance of this profound ultimate meaning, at that time, one will have a definite knowledge, free from the darkness of doubt, of all the profound and vast teachings of the Tathagata's scriptures. However, for those who have not trained their minds in the Great Vehicle, have little accumulation of merit, and hold the two truths as contradictory, it will become a place of fear. Those who possess the eye of wisdom that realizes the eight profoundnesses will have great faith in this place. What are the eight profoundnesses? Like arising and non-arising, these two truths seem contradictory to the minds of children. But in the eyes of those who see the profound nature of reality, if one examines arising from the perspective of ultimate truth, although it is empty, due to the power of the unfailing dependent origination, there is arising in conventional truth, which is not only not contradictory, but also appears as one, this is the profundity of arising. Similarly, although there is no cessation in ultimate truth, there is cessation in conventional truth, realizing it as one without contradiction, this is the profundity of cessation. In the path of learning, although one knows suchness with wisdom, one does not manifest it out of season with skillful means, as it is said in the scriptures. To this, those of small minds will think, if one should know and familiarize oneself with suchness, then what is there that cannot be manifested? If it cannot be manifested, then knowing and familiarizing oneself is meaningless, which is difficult to understand. But those with wisdom, with the power of knowing and familiarizing themselves with suchness, do not merely manifest it out of season, but manifest it with the nature of complete purity and ultimate perfection, knowing it as one without contradiction, this is the profundity of realizing suchness. Although one knows that ultimate truth is free from elaboration and that generosity and so on cannot be practiced, one practices generosity and so on immeasurably in conventional truth. For ordinary minds, if one cannot practice, then practicing generosity and so on is also unreasonable. If one practices, then it is not that one does not practice, and one will think in a contradictory way.
