It is so. As previously stated, the unconditioned is the four: the two cessations, space, and suchness. Although suchness has no difference in its own nature, it is said to have many distinctions in relation to the emptiness-basis phenomena. These are: the suchness of naturally pure nature, and the two suchnesses of adventitiously purified; the two suchnesses of contaminated and uncontaminated; and again, the two from the perspective of the selflessness of persons and the selflessness of phenomena; and the division into three suchnesses of ground, path, and fruition, etc. Without cause, the essence is emptiness. The fruit is without aspiration, that is, from the perspective of being empty of the three: cause, fruit, and essence, the three doors of liberation are established. According to their order, clinging to the characteristics of essence and difference, etc., and all views such as the view of self and the view of extremes, existent and nonexistent, etc., and all aspirations such as accepting and clinging, etc., should be abandoned. Above the three liberations, the unconditioned, which is naturally luminous, is taught, and it is also said to be the four doors of liberation. Again, it is said to be the sixteen emptinesses: The six outer sense bases being empty of their own essence is outer emptiness. Similarly, the six inner sense bases being empty is inner emptiness. Both the outer and inner sense bases being empty is outer-inner emptiness. These three show that all phenomena included by outer and inner are not established by their own nature. Great is the ten directions, being vast because it pervades everywhere. Those directions being without their own essence is called great emptiness, in order to reverse the notion of clinging to directions as great. Without beginning and end is the cycle of existence that appears in various world realms. That being empty of its own essence is emptiness of without beginning and end, in order to abandon attachment to and fear of cyclic existence. The three realms included by conditioned phenomena, which have the three: arising, abiding, and ceasing, being empty of their own essence is conditioned emptiness. All unconditioned phenomena such as space, etc., being empty of their own essence is unconditioned emptiness, meaning that there is no phenomenon that is not included in conditioned and unconditioned, and that they are without their own nature. The nature of phenomena of all phenomena being without self-nature is emptiness, and that emptiness is also

Emptiness of essence is the emptiness of emptiness. That which has no extremes such as permanence and annihilation is transcendence of extremes. That, too, emptiness of transcendence of extremes is emptiness by its own essence. The very essence of conditioned and unconditioned dharmas is called self-nature because it is not made by anyone. That, too, emptiness is self-nature emptiness by its own essence. Non-apprehension is said to be non-apprehension in the three times. That itself, emptiness of non-apprehension is emptiness by its own essence. The ultimate truth is the ultimate reality to be realized, suchness, and the ultimate attainment, nirvana. That, each emptiness of ultimate truth is emptiness by its own essence. That which has no abandonment or rejection in any dharma is called non-abandonment. That, too, emptiness of non-abandonment is emptiness by its own essence. For things that arise from conditions, there is no continuous or assembled thing, that is called the nature of non-thingness, and that itself, emptiness of the nature of non-thingness is emptiness by its own essence. These seven are for the purpose of preventing attachment to antidotes, that is, emptiness and freedom from extremes in order, and self-nature, and non-apprehension, and ultimate truth, and non-abandonment, and the nature of non-thingness, there is nothing established, having known this, in order to realize freedom from elaboration by completely reversing the grasping of the object of attachment to this and that, it was taught. All conditioned and unconditioned dharmas from form to omniscience, all emptiness by their own essence, all dharma emptiness, in short, by showing that there is nothing that is not empty in the measure of what is knowable, it is shown by collecting the meaning of all the above. All that is posited as conditioned and unconditioned dharmas, the meaning of all those positions is their own characteristics, such as being able to be form, like the heat of fire and the moisture of water. Although one clings to this and that dharma based on those individual characteristics, there is no essence of those, emptiness of self-characteristics, these dharmas are not like being made empty by other antidotes, but the self-nature emptiness of what appears as such, abiding as such, is shown for the purpose of knowing. Having taught the sixteen emptinesses in this way, again that
