Until the distinct Dharmadhatu and other dharmas are known. In the Sutras and Shastras of the Mind-Only school, eight consciousnesses are accepted. Among them, the specific characteristic of the mind consciousness, which is the mind that constantly thinks with arrogance, inwardly focuses on the Alaya consciousness, and is associated with the four afflictions of self-view, self-conceit, self-attachment, and ignorance, is called the afflicted mind. It operates in all virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral minds, except for the manifestation of the noble path, the absorption of cessation, and the state of no more learning. The Alaya consciousness is the holder of all seeds completely imbued by the aggregates, realms, and sources. It is the basis of the mind, merely clear awareness, without distinction. In this regard, from the perspective of the basis for things to appear as bodies, merely existing as seeds capable of arising, it is also called the consciousness that receives the Alaya. Although things appear as bodies, from the perspective that it is merely the Alaya consciousness appearing, like the appearance of a dream, it is also called the Vipaka Alaya or its consciousness. Mind, intellect, and consciousness are considered to have the same meaning, only different names. Some also consider the mind to be the Alaya consciousness, the intellect to be the afflicted mind, and consciousness to be the name of the six consciousnesses. Thus, since the five aggregates encompass all conditioned dharmas, based on this, it is the basis for the arising of many names and establishments such as time. Therefore, these five aggregates are called the basis of time and speech, and as having certainty, and having a cause. They are also called the world, the place of views, and existence. Taking through the gate of desire and attachment, therefore, the contaminated aggregates of grasping are also called having strife, and suffering and origin. The chapter on the detailed classification of the aggregates is complete. The eighteen realms are: From the aggregate of form, ten realms are established. Which ten realms? They are the five realms from the eye realm to the body realm, and the five realms from form to touch, totaling ten realms. Seven consciousness realms, which are the six realms from the eye consciousness realm to the mind consciousness realm, and the mind realm as the seventh realm. The mind realm refers to the mind faculty, which is the moment immediately after the cessation of the six consciousnesses.

That is, it is the source of the arising of consciousness. The so-called Dharma Realm refers to the three aggregates of feeling, perception, and volition, as well as non-manifesting form, and all unconditioned dharmas. Among the unconditioned dharmas, the Abhidharmakosha states that there are three: cessation through discrimination, cessation without discrimination, and space. Thus, it is considered that there are seven Dharma Realms. Furthermore, the Mind-Only school and others add Suchness, considering it to be four. In the Compendium of Abhidharma, it is said that there are three Suchnesses of virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral, as well as non-perception, and two states of mind cessation during the time of cessation attainment. Adding these to the previous three, a total of eight unconditioned dharmas are considered. Among these, cessation through discrimination refers to the part of the unconditioned dharma where afflictions and other objects to be abandoned are permanently separated through the power of the path, such as discriminating wisdom. Cessation without discrimination refers to that which is not ceased through discrimination, but due to the power of incomplete causes and conditions, something does not exist somewhere, like horns on a horse's head. All distinctions of non-existence, such as a pot not being in a certain place, are included here. Space refers to that which has no form, does not obstruct, and opens up space for all functions. The Suchness of virtuous and other dharmas is the essence of Dharma. Immovable refers to the non-perception attainment. Cessation of perception and feeling refers to the cessation attainment. Thus, the five forms included in the Dharma source, as well as the three aggregates of feeling, perception, and volition, and the eight unconditioned dharmas, these sixteen are called the Dharma Realm. Thus, from the eye realm, the form realm, and the eye consciousness realm, up to the mind consciousness realm, among these eighteen realms, the six from eye to mind are the cause or lineage or seed of grasping objects, similarly, the six from form to dharma are what is grasped, and the six from eye consciousness to mind consciousness are the cause or lineage or seed of actually grasping objects. Therefore, realm refers to having the meaning of cause or lineage and seed. Furthermore, there is also the saying of the "six realms of a person," which are the six realms of earth, water, fire, wind, space, and consciousness, referring to the four great elements of the body, and the part of the internal empty space is the space realm, and the consciousness realm, which represents this.
