Furthermore, relics, lotuses, jewels, food, clothing, vehicles, etc., manifesting in various forms that benefit the well-being of sentient beings, are also called various manifestations. The activity of that Buddha pervades all directions like the expanse of the sky, and because it is continuous at all times, it is constant, and it possesses the nature of being spontaneously accomplished without conceptualization. If the mind is without conceptualization, how does it engage in benefiting the realm of sentient beings? Just as the body appears as the image of Indra, the voice resounds like the drum of the gods, the wisdom and compassion of the mind pervade like clouds, the manifestation of various emanations is like Brahma, the joy of wisdom is like the sun, the secret of the mind is like a jewel, the manifestation of speech is like an echo, the secret of the body is like the sky, and the activity of benefiting others is like the earth, these nine examples are shown, and it should be understood as explained in the Sutra of the Ornament of Manifest Wisdom and the Uttaratantra Shastra. That activity brings temporary happiness and ultimate benefit to sentient beings. If explained in detail, it is immeasurable, but in brief, it is to establish beings on the support of the path, higher realms, to establish them on the path of the three enlightenments, and to lead all paths to the ultimate, establishing them in non-abiding nirvana. Thus, the qualities of the Buddha are immeasurable and inconceivable. In brief, the Buddha is the body of wisdom, constant, pervasive, and unconditioned. In the manner of manifesting all forms, even the qualities of a single pore of the form body, the Tathagata has said that even if explained until the end of an eon, they would not be exhausted. If explained separately, the three secrets of the Tathagata's body, speech, and mind have three inconceivable modes. Similarly, the power of merit, the power of miracles, the power of meditation, the power of wisdom, the power of liberation, the power of great compassion, the power of the wealth of qualities, and the power of activity of that Buddha are all inconceivable. They should be understood as explained in the sutras with various categories of examples and meanings. This is the chapter on being skilled in the vehicle. From what is called conditioned and unconditioned, conditioned is cause and

Whatever arises from conditions, whose own nature has three characteristics: arising, abiding, and ceasing, that is, all phenomena based on the five aggregates. The unconditioned is the opposite of that, not born from causes and without arising or ceasing. These conditioned phenomena, in terms of their arising, are divided into six causes, four conditions, and five results. The six causes are: the efficient cause, the co-existent cause, the similar cause, the corresponding cause, the pervasive cause, and the ripening cause. The efficient cause is what the Vaibhashikas consider to be all phenomena other than the result itself, so that all causes and non-causes are included in this category. The efficient cause has two types: with power and without power. The first is like seeds helping sprouts, and so on. The second is like the unconditioned for sprouts, and the aggregates of hell beings for the birth of formless beings. These are considered causes only from the perspective of not obstructing birth, and although some say that they may also help indirectly, it must be held that the efficient cause is only with power, and this is common to all causes. In order not to be confused about the nature of cause in the case of this efficient cause, some categories of causes are shown. The cause of arising is said to be of two types: the proximate cause and the co-operative condition. The first is like sprouts from seeds, and the arising of the later consciousness from the earlier consciousness. The second is like water for sprouts, and the object condition and sense faculty for consciousness. Also, the seed for the sprout is the cause of arising, and the lamp for the vase in a dark room is the cause of clarification. It is also said that there are ten kinds of efficient causes: the efficient cause of arising, such as the arising of eye consciousness from the eye sense faculty; the efficient cause of abiding, such as the four foods causing the body to abide; the efficient cause of dependence, such as the essence relying on the earth; the efficient cause of clarification to be shown, such as the lamp for the object in a dark room; the efficient cause of transformation, such as the fire for smelting; the efficient cause of separation, such as the axe for cutting roots; the efficient cause of transformation, such as the craftsman making bracelets from gold; the efficient cause of trust.
