Knowing all the birthplaces of the earth, and knowing the path and fruit of the exhaustion of all defilements. These ten powers are as indestructible as a vajra, that is, with the six knowledges of what is and is not, piercing through the obscuration of knowledge like armor; with the three knowledges of meditative absorption, past lives, and death and rebirth, destroying the obscuration of meditative absorption like a wall; and with the power of knowing the exhaustion of defilements, in order to cut off the obscuration of habitual tendencies like a tree; furthermore, with the power of knowing what is and is not, knowing the causes and non-causes, thereby subduing the demons who mislead sentient beings who are deluded about the causes of going to happy and unhappy realms; with the power of knowing karma, subduing the demons who mislead about refuge, that is, knowing that beings experience happiness and suffering due to karma, and that lords of power and others cannot protect them. With the power of knowing the meditative absorptions of defilement and purification, subduing the demons who are deluded by seeing the contaminated as pure, that is, knowing that merely obtaining the form of meditative absorption does not liberate from samsara. The remaining seven subdue the demons who are deluded about the definite emergence through the Great Vehicle, that is, by knowing the realms, knowing the lineages; by knowing the inclinations, knowing the faith; by knowing the faculties, knowing the distinctions of wisdom, thereby knowing the differences of vessels; by the power of knowing past lives and death and rebirth, knowing the basis of the path; by knowing the path that goes everywhere, knowing the nature of the path; by knowing the exhaustion of defilements, knowing the fruit of definite emergence, thereby teaching the trainable beings accordingly. The fourteenth group, the four fearlessnesses: the fearlessness of vowing to have perfected self-benefit realization, that is, vowing to say that I have directly known all aspects of knowable things; the fearlessness of vowing to have perfected self-benefit abandonment, that is, vowing to say that I have abandoned all that should be abandoned, including the two obscurations and their habitual tendencies, these two are truthfully speaking about how one's own benefit is; the fearlessness of teaching the path of definite emergence for the benefit of others, that is, teaching that with the realization of selflessness and other such paths, one will definitely emerge into the state of liberation; the fearlessness of teaching the obstacles of the path for the benefit of others, that is, saying that attachment and other afflictions are obstacles of the path.

are teachers. Those two are truthfully proclaimed for the benefit of others. Regarding these four points that were proclaimed, no one, whether it be a god or a demon, or Brahma and Brahmins, or any great one in the world, would say that it is not so, because there is no refutation that accords with the Dharma. Therefore, in the assembly, like a lion, without fear or shyness, he proclaims such a lion's roar. The fifteenth section, the eighteen unshared qualities, are: no confusion in body, no idle talk in speech, no loss of mindfulness in mind, no mind without equanimity, no diverse thoughts, no unexamined equanimity, these are the six encompassed by conduct. Not losing the aspiration to uphold the lineage of the Buddhas and benefit sentient beings, similarly, joyful diligence in benefiting others, unforgetting mindfulness that sees all dharmas as they are, wisdom that discriminates all dharmas, being liberated from the two obscurations, wisdom that has mastery over all dharmas, the self-awareness of being liberated from all obscurations is the wisdom that sees liberation. At the end of all these, it should be understood that "no loss" is added. These are the six encompassed by realization. All actions of the body are preceded by wisdom and follow or enter into wisdom, similarly, this should be applied to the actions of speech and mind. These three are encompassed by activity. All actions of body, speech, and mind are meaningful in every way. For past time, the vision of wisdom without attachment or obstruction enters. Similarly, applying it to the present and future, these three are the three encompassed by time, that is, knowing everything in all times. These eighteen are unique to the Buddha and are not found even in the bodhisattvas of the ten bhumis, therefore they are called the unshared qualities of the Buddha alone, like the sky's own element that is unshared with the four elements. Furthermore, the unique qualities of the Buddha alone: the body is immeasurable and transcends all, the crown of the head is invisible, like medicinal herbs, just seeing them pacifies the faults of sentient beings, the robes do not touch the body by even a finger's width, and so on, there are many other unshared qualities as well. In the Ornament for Clear Realization, due to the order of the sutra, this unshared quality is placed in the twentieth section. Section
