Thus it is. The first five superknowledges exist in the actual state of the four dhyanas. These five superknowledges have the sphere of activity of their own realm and the realms below. If superknowledges are accomplished by relying on the four dhyanas, they will become supreme. That is to say, one should practice by relying on the mind of dhyana, through recollecting the respective aspects. The superknowledges associated with the undefiled path are more supreme than worldly superknowledges. The cessation attainment is beyond the world, first practiced among people, manifested among people or in the form realm, but not manifested in the formless realm, because those who abide in the fruition of peaceful liberation do not exert effort for it. That is to say, one enters into absorption gradually from the first dhyana up to the peak of existence. Since the subtlest mind in the three realms is the peak of existence, one enters into the cessation of all perceptions and feelings after that, but this can only be done by noble ones, not by ordinary people. Entering into it for the sake of the cessation of mind and mental factors, for the sake of abiding in happiness in this life, etc., one enters and arises as if being shot out, according to how much one thinks about how long it will take to arise from the absorption. One enters the nine successive absorptions gradually, and then comes back in reverse order, being stopped by the desire realm mind that is not in equipoise, abandoning the first to eighth of the nine successive absorptions in order, and entering into other absorptions. This is called the samadhi of surpassing order. This is practiced in order to train the skill of samadhi. In general, the paths of small, medium, and great are established according to the way of abandoning the afflictions of the ground and the ground. Also, the path of application refers to how one begins to abandon afflictions, it precedes the path of no interruption. The path of no interruption is that which, immediately after the path of application, abandons afflictions without interruption. The path of liberation is the manifestation of the state of liberation from abandoning afflictions. The special path refers to the application, the path of no interruption, and the path of liberation, which are established on the basis of the previous path in order to abandon higher afflictions. Or, even if one has not abandoned afflictions, one has faith in the Dharma, or enters and abides in absorption, or manifests special qualities.

Or, the path of abiding therein is called the distinguished path. Thus, why meditate on this path? It is meditated upon in order to increase the aspect of virtue and eliminate the aspect of non-virtue. At the time of meditating on the path, since the truth of the nature of reality has already been realized, it is pervaded by the correct view, and thus the eight noble paths arise. Thus, these uncontaminated paths are traversed by the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, and among them, the first four mindfulnesses are the path of completely understanding objects. Similarly, from the four right abandonments onwards, in sequence, are the path arising from diligence, and the path that causes samadhi to be completely practiced, and the path connected to realization, and the path of realization, and the path of definite purification, to be understood by combining them up to the eight noble paths. Furthermore, there are four kinds of paths: the path of slow and difficult realization is for those with dull faculties who have not yet attained the actual dhyana. The path of quick and difficult realization is for those with sharp faculties who have not yet attained the actual dhyana. The path of slow and easy realization is for those with dull faculties who have attained the actual dhyana. The path of quick and easy realization is for those with sharp faculties who have attained the actual dhyana. These four are called paths that differ according to place and faculties. Furthermore, there are four abodes of dharma: absence of covetousness, absence of harmful intent, right mindfulness, and right samadhi. The first two are for training in higher discipline, mindfulness is for higher mind, and the latter is for training in higher wisdom, therefore these four are called the path of completely training in the three trainings. Furthermore, shamatha and vipashyana are called the path that accomplishes all qualities, the non-distracted shamatha is the accomplishment of the mind of shamatha that is extremely trained and possessed by the nine methods of abiding the mind. The non-inverted vipashyana is for dispelling inverted signs and bad abodes, distinguishing the dharmas of the two truths by way of general characteristics, and distinguishing them well by way of self-characteristics, and seeing the true meaning as it is with the wisdom that completely understands the essence and examines the differences. That is, after obtaining shamatha,
