Now, for both of these, from the aspect of being the object of entry and exit of a person, it is called the object of entry; from the aspect of being the object to be apprehended by the mind, it is called the object of apprehension. Thus, it is the establishment of object and subject. Also, regarding the establishment of contradictory relationships, there are two types of contradiction: those that do not coexist with the same constant function are mutually exclusive contradictions. For example, like grasping at self and not grasping at self, it is a contradiction of mind; like hot and cold touch, it is a contradiction of things, there are these two. Mutual abandonment contradiction, such as substantial contradiction like permanent and impermanent. Indirect contradiction is the object pervaded by the contradictory opposite and the other of the contradictory opposite, such as permanent and created, there are these two. Regarding relationship, like created and impermanent, although the reverse is different, in the Dharma of the vase, there is no difference in essence, it is a single self relationship. Like fire and smoke, there are these two types of arising relationship. Also, the imputed meaning of the word "vase" is that the bulging belly is the defining characteristic of the vase. The term for the vase established by it is the signified. On what basis are these two established? From the distinction of the signified, such as grasping a lump of gold with a bulging belly as the basis, like this, it is the establishment of the signifier, the signified, and the basis. Also, like a vase, it is a qualified basis, and on top of it, there are openings, bellies, petals, etc., and as many dharmas as there are, such as created and impermanent, are called the establishment of the dharma of characteristics. Also, the establishment of the expressible and the expression is that the object of observation, the external thing, and the appearance of its general meaning appearing in the mind, are mixed into one, and all the symbols become consistent with the thing. Analyzing this, the actual expressible of the sound of the name is the general meaning of the thing, the expressible of attachment is the self-characteristic of the thing, the actual expression is the general sound, the expression of attachment is the self-characteristic of the sound, although this is the case, through intentional discrimination, the sound and the general sound are mixed into one and held as the expression, the thing and the general meaning of the thing are mixed into one and held as the expressible, and from the words of the expression, the expressible thing can be understood. Relying on these establishments of names with similar meanings, one can become unconfused about the things to be known. This name is established as the three: knowing, speaking, and acting, through the three doors of mind, speech, and body. From the perspective of the cause of making names, it is making names after seeing directly through sense consciousness, it is the name of seeing. Similarly, from the words of belief

Furthermore, there are four ways of naming things: by analyzing and distinguishing with one's own mind, and by experiencing with one's own awareness. Also, affirming what exists and denying what does not exist; these are the four parts of affirmation and negation, which are branches of the way of establishing names. Through these examples, one should understand the classification of names. Similarly, regarding the classification of aggregates, realms, and sources, the form aggregate includes ten sources and realms, as well as the dharma realm and one part of the sources. Therefore, the form included in the dharma source can be called the form among the five aggregates, but it is not merely the form among the five objects. For example, although there is no contradiction in admitting that things like images and sound images are merely objects of eye consciousness and ear consciousness, because they do not have any self-nature of form and sound, but are merely illusory appearances, they are classified as the form included in the dharma source, not the form and sound source. Among the classifications of the five objects, visible and obstructive form is like the form of pillars, vases, etc. Invisible and obstructive form is like the eye faculty, etc. Although there is something very clear like sunlight among these visible things, ordinary people cannot perceive it through the senses, but it is still considered "obstructive." Invisible and non-obstructive form is non-revealing form. Although only these three are mentioned, it seems that images can barely be given the name of "visible and non-obstructive form." The consciousness aggregate includes the mind source and the seven consciousness realms. The other three aggregates, and one part of the form aggregate, namely the form included in the dharma source and unconditioned dharmas, are classified as the dharma source and the dharma realm. All of these are included within the three: the form aggregate, the mind source, and the dharma realm. Furthermore, knowable things can be summarized into five bases: the base of appearing form is the form aggregate as previously described. The main base of mind is the six or eight consciousnesses. The base of accompanying mental factors is the mental factors, including the fifty-one mental factors such as feeling and perception. Non-associated formations are as previously described, and the base of unconditioned dharmas is the dharma realm.
