Views are the wisdom of not abiding equally, which is the wisdom of hearing. If one possesses hearing, one will rejoice in vast wisdom, or desire, meaning bright and blazing. Because wisdom is bright from hearing, it is the form of desiring wisdom. Wisdom is the wisdom born of meditation, and because one is accustomed to and enters into it, it is the form of entering into wisdom. Hearing the Buddha's three vehicles of Dharma, the form of not knowing satisfaction. For the sake of the Dharma that is heard, or the adornments and implements of the mind, giving flawless generosity, and also spreading it widely, so it is the form of spreading generosity. By cultivating antidotes, the senses such as the eyes enter into objects, and the afflictions are subdued. Like a wise horse that travels the right path, traveling from the noble path to nirvana, so it is a subdued and wise form. From the virtuous friend, from beginning to end, holding many virtuous Dharmas, so it is the form of relying on much hearing. Abandoning the disrespect of the three doors of body, speech, and mind towards the Dharma and the speaker of Dharma, and listening with respect, joy, pleasantness, and goodness will arise, therefore, taking it as an object of respect and experiencing joy, or the form of rejoicing in respect. From hearing, the mind is not disturbed, and one attains tranquility. Therefore, the senses do not wander towards objects, and there is no distraction of conceptual thoughts, so the mind is at ease, and if the mind is at ease, the body is also at ease, so it is the form of bodily ease. Therefore, abandoning the faults of speech, speaking well and speaking gently, the tranquility of speech will also arise. From hearing, one obtains insight, eliminating doubt and hesitation, so it is the form of extreme joy in the mind. The two faults of diligence are being too slow and too intense, as well as laziness. Separating from these two, listening without laziness is the form of listening without laziness. What is spoken, the limbs of the scriptures are words, and listening to them is the form of listening to words or Dharma. What is attained is nirvana accomplished through the noble path, which is attained by relying on hearing, so it is the form of listening to meaning. Good deeds that eliminate all the faults of non-action arise from hearing, so it is also said to be the form of listening to good conduct. What is to be accomplished is the eightfold noble path, etc., diligently accomplishing it, so it is the form of listening diligently. Others, what the Khenpo, Acharya, and virtuous friends say and teach, abandoning self-righteous clinging, listen as they say

The aspect of listening to the teachings taught by others. The aspects of Dharma that are not present in non-Buddhists outside of this path, those spoken of in the sutras, have never been heard even once since beginningless samsara, and now they are heard, therefore it is the aspect of listening to the Dharma that has not been heard. The aspect of listening to the objects of gathering, which are endowed with the four objects that make sentient beings happy, such as generosity. The aspect of listening to the six kinds of direct perception, such as eye consciousness, because they accomplish direct perception. The aspect of not desiring other vehicles, listening to other vehicles, such as Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, gods, and humans, but listening in a way that does not generate desire for them. The aspect of listening to the Paramitas, because it is endowed with accomplishing the six Paramitas, such as generosity. Among the twelve divisions of the scriptures, the aspect of listening to the Bodhisattva Pitaka, mainly listening to the very extensive sections and having faith in them. Virtuous roots, even if small, are increased immeasurably, and those who have not entered the teachings are caused to enter, and those who have entered are ripened and liberated, etc., are skillful means, and listening with this is the aspect of listening with skillful means. Brahma is Nirvana, which has abandoned all sins. The cause of attaining it is its abiding, which is the four immeasurables such as loving-kindness, and being endowed with that is the aspect of listening to the abiding of Brahma. A Bodhisattva remembers what should and should not be done, and knowing that all dharmas are without inherent existence, is the aspect of listening with mindfulness and awareness. In conventional truth, external and internal dharmas arise due to dependent origination, and knowing that there is no self or agent, is the aspect of listening skillfully to skillful arising. In ultimate truth, knowing the suchness that is free from arising, etc., is the aspect of skillfulness in non-arising. As an antidote to attachment, contemplating a corpse abandoned in a charnel ground, from one day old to the skeleton, is the aspect of unattractiveness. Pervading everything with loving-kindness that is free from hatred is the aspect of loving-kindness. Knowing dependent origination of cause, condition, and effect without another agent is the aspect of dependent origination. Conditioned phenomena arise and do not remain for a second moment, is the aspect of impermanence. That nature of impermanence is also the basis of the three sufferings, is the aspect of suffering. All conditioned and unconditioned dharmas are without inherent existence, is the aspect of selflessness. Nirvana, which pacifies all suffering and its origin, is the aspect of peace. Emptiness.
