These are the three aspects of the three doors of liberation. Thus, those such as collecting things arise from hearing and make one understand, so it is said that those aspects are spoken of in the manner of applying the name of the result to the cause. It should also be understood that it is implied that one should possess those various qualities when listening to the Dharma. The aspect of not doing non-virtuous deeds such as killing is the aspect of not manifestly accumulating. The aspect of doing virtuous deeds such as faith is the aspect of accumulating virtuous deeds. The blessings of seeing the truth or the truthful words of Bodhisattvas also arise from hearing, so it is the aspect of blessing with truth. Having seen that karma and the ripening of karma exist, not wasting is the aspect of not wasting. Holding discernment that does not need to rely on others, not relying on others is the aspect of independence or the aspect of relying solely on oneself. Not engaging in what is not to be done is the aspect of guarding one's own mind. Diligence is joy in manifestly accumulating virtue, and not abandoning it is doing it constantly and respectfully, so it is the aspect of not abandoning diligence. Determining the aggregates, elements, sense bases, etc., all pure dharmas, with wisdom is the aspect of definitely thinking about the Dharma. If one listens to the meaning of what has been said and contemplates and meditates with reason, one will abandon afflictions, which is the aspect of the antidote to afflictions. These three exist in the sutras and commentaries but are not mentioned here. One's own side is the side of the Bodhisattva, which is the pure dharmas and those belonging to its retinue. Protecting is preventing those sides from being robbed by others of the opposing side and not becoming under the control of afflictions, so it is the aspect of protecting one's own side. The aspect of the other side is the aspect of subduing demons, heretics, and afflictions, which is making them powerless and degraded. Faith, generosity, learning, shame, embarrassment, and wisdom, these seven noble riches gather in the one who has heard, so it is the aspect of truly accumulating or the aspect of relying on the seven noble riches. The noble riches that surpass ordinary wealth are obtained in one's own mindstream, and from cutting off all poverty of the qualities of one's own mindstream, it is the aspect of eliminating all poverty. Understanding the place of knowledge.

The wise who are versed in the teachings are sagacious. They also praise listening, because listening is the cause of abandoning all faults and attaining supreme qualities, so it is the aspect of praise by the wise. Those wise ones who are good at thinking, speaking, doing good deeds, and distinguishing what to accept and reject, also take great delight in listening, so it is the aspect of the wise appearing joyful. The Four Noble Ones also understand such Dharma meanings, or rather, the Noble Ones rejoice in listening, so it is the aspect of the Noble Ones knowing all. The wisdom of listening can enable even ordinary beings who are not Noble Ones to have faith in the Dharma, so it is the aspect of non-Noble Ones having faith. From the wisdom of listening, the seeing of the Four Noble Truths arises, so it is the aspect of seeing the Truths. Abandoning the faults of the contaminated aggregates, such as birth and aging, arises from listening, so it is the aspect of abandoning the faults of the aggregates. Listening enables one to understand the faults of the phenomena of samsara, so it is the aspect of completely subduing the faults of conditioned things. The four reliances, such as relying on meaning, also arise from relying on listening, so it is the aspect of relying on meaning, and so on, four aspects. Having listening, one does not commit non-virtuous deeds, so it is the aspect of not doing all sins. Abandoning the non-virtue of oneself and others, and accomplishing virtue, so it is the aspect of benefiting oneself and others. Listening itself is the nature of virtue, so it is the aspect of well-done deeds. Having done so well, one abides without regret for the causes of not having done well before, etc., this is the aspect of no regret, that is, having done good deeds, one rejoices thinking that it will transform in this way in the future, and there is no suffering in the mind. If the two are considered as one, it is because one believes in cause and effect, so one does not regret the good deeds done, and one is willing to engage again. Or, the extraordinary qualities are obtained from seeing the path, or rather, from the stage of faith and practice onwards, the grounds are suppressed one after another, in this way the differences or extraordinary qualities of the qualities increase more and more, which arises from listening, so it is the aspect of progressing to the extraordinary. The ten powers of the Sugata, the four fearlessnesses, etc., are obtained by relying on listening, and there is no other method, so it is the aspect of obtaining all the Buddha's teachings. Thus. Chapter Twelve, Explanation of the Established Tenets, in this Great Treasury of Reasoning, it is necessary to explain the difficult points of reasoning.
