Even if only a little appears, it is difficult to understand the meaning clearly. If samsara and nirvana appear as undifferentiated, then to think that non-self-existence is only differentiated is very disturbing. Therefore, here, changing "differentiated" to "undifferentiated" is like a faulty correction because the interpreter has not thoroughly understood the profound meaning. In general, regarding this, in terms of the level of understanding, conventionally, samsara and nirvana are only different in appearance, while ultimately, merely with the negative aspect of non-self-existence, one does not realize the great undifferentiation of samsara and nirvana. The great undifferentiation of samsara and nirvana is that the original self-existence is without origination or cessation, and this itself constitutes the self-existence or reality of all phenomena, which is called great nirvana. Its meaning transcends concepts and is not a nirvana that separates the duality of samsara and nirvana. Therefore, if we examine the statement that from the perspective of appearance they are differentiated, and from the perspective of emptiness they are undifferentiated, then when samsara and nirvana appear, it is unreasonable to think they are undifferentiated while clearly appearing as differentiated, just as it is unreasonable to think that a pillar and a vase are undifferentiated while clearly appearing as different. If one thinks that they are undifferentiated merely because they are similar in emptiness, that is not correct. If samsara and nirvana appear as differentiated, then the emptiness or non-self-existence related to the different appearances must also be differentiated or different, just like the object on the pillar and the object on the vase. If one thinks they are undifferentiated merely because they are similar, then all phenomena would be the same as knowable objects, and therefore self-existence would become a single undifferentiated entity, which would be equivalent to admitting the true doctrine of the naked ascetics (Jainism). Therefore, the emptiness formed by merely grasping the aspect of non-self-existence is neither samsara nor nirvana, nor is it the self-existence or ultimate reality of both, because it falls into the one-sidedness of empty words. This refutation also applies, if one thinks that samsara and nirvana are undifferentiated merely in appearance, which no one can admit. But this is not the same, because the distinction between samsara and nirvana as dualistic appearances that appear separately does not exist at all in the ultimate sense. Since dualistic appearances do not exist, then the nature of each phenomenon, which is the object established by conceptual thought, does not exist at all. Therefore, it is said that the undifferentiated truth is beyond the realm of mental activity, which is non-conceptual nirvana. Here, according to the old model, 'difference'

It is called "appearance." Although the meaning of the intention is clearly stated in the scriptures in this way, my own intellectual ability is limited to this extent for the words and phrases at this time. The intention of this great being is extremely profound, so please understand it again! In the context of "samsara is not established but appears, ultimate truth is established but does not appear now," measuring with terms, the reality of things, the nature of the innate luminosity of emptiness and non-duality, that itself is the ultimate abiding of all dharmas, for example, like the white of a conch shell is reality. The appearance of samsara and nirvana in various ways, and all dualistic dharmas such as the conventional and ultimate truths that are falsely established, are not reality like the yellow of a conch shell. If one does not know that one abides in meaning and one does not abide in meaning, one cannot distinguish the difference between the reality and non-reality of things, this is just the way of establishing terms. Not only does one not establish nirvana as the ultimate truth that can withstand examination or is truly established, but here one also refutes subtle elaborations of extremes, therefore, although it is as far apart as heaven and earth from the texts in the snowy region (referring to Tibet) that are attached to one side, it seems that each pulls to one side with their own desires, which does not seem beneficial. So, if here too one establishes the term "nirvana," and thinks that "samsara is not established, nirvana is established," is it not wrong to divide them into two? Dividing the ultimate truth into two types, with and without names, is the same as this principle. The falsely established nirvana that is divided into samsara and nirvana is named, while the nature of the innate original nature in which the elaborations of samsara and nirvana are originally cut off is the unnamed nirvana. Here, it is explained from the perspective of the great nirvana like the latter. As it is also said in the Root Wisdom Treatise: "The existent and the non-existent are conditioned. Nirvana is unconditioned, therefore it is unborn." And "What is said is cessation, the activity of the mind is also cessation. Not being born and not ceasing is the same as nirvana." It's like this. If one understands such an intention as provisional, then those who think that emptiness is the ultimate truth free from elaboration will fall into the extreme of annihilation. If there is no basis for separation, then on what does the meaning of becoming a Buddha and expanding, etc., rest? Here, if one does not understand the great union of the nature of reality, which is originally abiding, is free from elaboration, and thinks that the mere emptiness free from obscurations is the ultimate truth, then that is the view of some ancient people.
