Therefore, it will not become a cause for annihilation. Furthermore, all of these are based on the view of self, therefore, the reasoning that demonstrates the absence of self as the basis of view, and the reasoning that prevents permanence and annihilation, have been explained in various ways before, and will continue to be explained later. Among them, the first of the five logical systems (tarkas), the Samkhya school, was founded by a meditative ascetic named Sage Kapila. These people, following the sixty lineages of Ishvara Krishna and others, consider all knowable things to be twenty-five principles. That is, the self, the eternal purusha as the knower, and the pradhana, the equilibrium of the three gunas of sattva, rajas, and tamas. From that pradhana, the "great one" arises, like a clear mirror connecting inside and out. From this, three types of ego arise, and from ego arise the five tanmatras and eleven senses. From the five tanmatras arise the five elements. Furthermore, the self realizes that it has been deceived by attachment to objects, and through meditating on samadhi, it obtains the divine eye. When it looks, all transformations dissolve into the space of the pradhana, and the self remains independent, which is considered liberation. Such a system is false because it has many contradictions that are different from the nature of liberation or the nature of the pradhana. The reason is established, that is, it is impossible for a result to arise from an eternal pradhana, it is impossible for an eternal self to enjoy objects, it is impossible for a self to have attachment and yet be without attachment, and because it possesses the three gunas, it is impossible for the pradhana to be singular, and if the cause and effect are of the same essence, then it contradicts all conventions of designation, and so on, which can be refuted by these reasons. The second, the Vaisheshika school, asserts six categories of knowable objects, that is, the sage Kanada, in order to accomplish Ishvara, saw an owl appear on a stone lingam, and considered it to be Ishvara. Therefore, after asking six questions such as "Does substance exist?" the owl flew away, and based on this, they declared that all knowable things are six meanings of words: substance, quality, action, generality, particularity, and inherence. Among them, there are nine substances: self, time, atoms, direction, and the five spaces are eternal substances, and earth, water, fire, and wind are impermanent substances. There are twenty-four qualities: number, measure, conjunction, disjunction, otherness, and non-otherness are six common qualities, and the five sense consciousnesses such as eye consciousness, as well as pleasure, pain, desire, anger, dharma, non-dharma, and effort.

The power of action, namely thirteen, is the merit of self, and sound is the merit of space. Similarly, touch is of wind, smell is of earth, taste is of water, and form is of fire. Actions include stretching, contracting, lifting, placing, and moving, which are five. Generally, there are two: large and small. Specifically, it is a clear, distinct substance. Aggregation includes distinct aggregation, like horns on the head, and non-distinct aggregation, like the white roundness of a conch shell, which are considered as two. The self is like space, without consciousness. Although sound always exists in space, it is obscured by the humid wind and cannot be heard. It is believed that when a man's efforts dispel the wind, it can be heard. Thus, the assertion that liberation is achieved through understanding the six knowable objects through knowledge is not true, because it is contradictory when analyzed with reason. Furthermore, directions, time, and so on are merely imputed and do not exist as substances in reality. Atoms and the four elements are refuted by analyzing directional parts. The self and Ishvara (自在天) lack a permanent basis. It is unreasonable for a self without consciousness to experience happiness and suffering, bondage and liberation, and the qualities of happiness, etc., cannot be established. Therefore, such assertions are refuted because they appear only as contradictions. The third, the Vedic followers or practitioners, hold that Brahmins represent kings and consider the Vedas as authoritative. Relying on texts such as branches that aid understanding, they regard Vishnu as a god and accept ten vows, namely Vishnu with ten entrances, the Vedas not created by humans, things arising without cause, consciousness not knowing itself, purification through bathing in the Ganges River, purification by being born in the Kuru country or being smeared with its dust, purification through place, purification by killing in battle, rebirth in higher realms through having children, purification through protecting life by stealing, etc., and it is believed that killing those who harm lamas, Brahmins, and the Vedas is purification by protecting the Dharma. Such a system, the subject, is to be abandoned as a reversed doctrine, because it appears as a path that does not help liberation. Whatever Vishnu, etc., is, if born, is necessarily impermanent; if not born, it is non-existent like the son of a barren woman. It is impossible for something to be truly established and yet unborn, and it is also refuted by the reasoning that refutes permanent entities. There is no proof that the Vedas are not created by humans.
