Having divided the aspect of conditioned phenomena into moments and subtle particles, material forms are finite with indivisible particles, and consciousness is understood by the mind as merely arising in a continuous series of indivisible moments. Therefore, in this understanding, there is no self of a person, only the nature of phenomena that are non-aggregate. This contaminated aggregate, which is momentarily impermanent, is the basis of the three sufferings, and because it is empty of the self of a person, it is known that there is no lord or agent. Through this, one realizes the truth of suffering. Seeing that this aggregate, which has the nature of suffering, arises entirely from the causes and conditions of afflictions rooted in attachment to self, and from the power of these afflictions, various actions are accumulated, and it is repeatedly born again in existence, one realizes the truth of the origin. The path that abandons the root of the cause of being born in existence, which is the clinging to self, with the wisdom that realizes selflessness, is the path of attaining liberation and nirvana. It is only through this that one is definitely released from the swamp of samsara and attains ultimate liberation, which is reasonable, supremely accomplished, and justified. Seeing that there is no other path to liberation other than the path of selflessness, one realizes the truth of the path. Through that path, one gradually abandons both the innate and imputed clinging to self. The cessation of the continuity of birth in the three realms of samsara is the definite liberation from samsara. Knowing that the pacification of karma, afflictions, and suffering is the most excellent and abundant among all things to be sought and attained, one realizes the truth of cessation. Thus, one realizes the four truths through the way of seeing. Because one believes that these two indivisible (subtle particles and moments) are established in ultimate truth, and because one has not realized that all phenomena of arising, ceasing, and purification are emptiness without a basis, one has not realized the selflessness of phenomena. Its meditation is to familiarize oneself with the unattractive and so on as an antidote to the three poisons. The conduct is to practice the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment by abiding in the completely pure Pratimoksha vows. The result is the four pairs and eight types of individuals, that is, the seven fruits of the path in the interim, and ultimately the attainment of the Arhat who has exhausted all bonds in the three realms. Of the Hearers.

In terms of tenets, although they agree on the Four Noble Truths and the selflessness of persons, and both consider indivisible particles to be truly existent, unlike the Vaibhashikas, they do not accept non-associated compositional factors and unconditioned phenomena as truly existent, but only as nominally designated. Regarding the appearance of external objects, they recognize external objects by the way their appearances manifest in consciousness, considering that external objects actually exist in a hidden manner. Due to some such acknowledgments in terms of conventional expressions that are in accordance with the reasoning of reality, they are separately referred to as the Sautrantika school above the level of noble beings. However, there is no difference from the Shravakas in terms of view, meditation, conduct, and result. Second is the Svatantra Vehicle: In previous lives, having heard the Dharma of selflessness and made aspirations, due to this cause, one becomes a final existence being. One arises with a strong sense of weariness towards samsara, and by examining a pile of bones abandoned in a charnel ground, one thinks, 'This is called death. The cause of this is taking birth,' and so forth. By examining dependent origination in reverse order up to ignorance, one realizes the truths of suffering and its origin. Furthermore, regarding the selflessness of persons, one realizes that ignorance is merely grasping at a false imputation, and that in reality there is no self of persons as it is apprehended, and thus one knows that ignorance, the cause of samsara, will cease, and this is the truth of the path. By contemplating the reverse order of dependent origination, from the cessation of ignorance to the cessation of aging and death, one realizes the truth of cessation. And, due to the power of dependent origination of the continuum of momentary inner consciousness, external phenomena merely appear like dream images, and there are no indivisible particles that are established as external objects. Therefore, one accepts that the momentary indivisible inner consciousness is truly established. Thus, one has a view that realizes half of the selflessness, knowing that in the selflessness of persons and the selflessness of phenomena, the apprehended aspect of form is without true existence. In terms of meditation, one relies on the fourth dhyana and is able to generate the path of joining, from the heat stage up to the wisdom of exhaustion and non-arising, on a single seat. This is done by correctly ascertaining the key point of the reverse order of dependent origination. In terms of conduct, one teaches the Dharma without sound, through bodily gestures, and benefits sentient beings through miraculous displays. The result is the land of supreme bliss, called the Self-Sufficient Enemy.
