Then, it will not involve causes, and even if the subsequent forward and reverse movements are not seen by valid cognition, it is reasonable to acknowledge them as causes. Secondly, regarding the similarity between life and what is heard: The fundamental reason is the establishment, and the detailed explanation of this reason. Firstly, because there is no pervasion, and because of the mistaken belief that one's own thesis can be established, the establishment of what is heard as a reason for establishing sound as permanent, and the establishment of life, etc., as reasons for establishing a living body as having consciousness, are the same. Secondly, refute by examining the reverse reason, refute by relying on the basis of dependence, and refute by relying on the relationship between the two. Firstly, establish the similarity without reverse pervasion, and the answer to this is to refute the establishment. Firstly, the thing and its rationality. Firstly, the opponent says: These two are not the same, because what is heard and life, etc., as reasons, although they are reversed from the dissimilar side, what is heard is because of the mistaken belief that it can establish it, and it can also be established as impermanent in reverse, so it is not a correct reason. If asked: How is it mistaken? They say: What is heard is not the dissimilar side itself that is not the thesis, or only reversed from it, but also reversed from the similar side. If you say: Then in fact, what is heard does not follow the dharma of the thesis, so it will be said that this is a mistake, and even if it is only reversed from the dissimilar side, it cannot be established without mistake, because it is of no benefit to the thesis. If this is the case, then the absence of following is the same for other lives, etc. Secondly, its rationality is: The reason is distinguished from not being the thesis itself, and the certainty of saying this means that it abides in its own thesis, because it is said that it is only absent from the dissimilar side, so the certainty of only is used to show that it is present on the similar side, and if it is said that in two contradictory things, if one is absent, it cannot show that it is present in the other, then it is meaningless to specifically designate one of the two, therefore the meaning of the statement is understanding, so it is said that any one can also represent two, that is, saying that it is only present on the similar side, or only absent on the dissimilar side, either one can represent two. Therefore, reversing from the absence of following is also correct.
