Now, because one takes objects like pots apart from sound, and considers the attribute of sound to be contradictory to permanence, being impermanent, therefore saying "all sounds are impermanent" is merely expressing it in terms of meaning. For example, it is like saying "give milk to the son of the Brahmin Kunda," and then saying "give yogurt to the Brahmins." Even so, since the general term "all" does not abandon its own particularity, sound, but merely expresses it generally, such an expression is not reasonable, because it is foolish, irrelevant speech. Second, dispel doubts and establish validity. From that, show the harm to other views. First, in this way, it is not certain that the general term does not abandon its particulars in all cases. Because sometimes it is seen that when asked, "Is this just a shapa tree?" one answers, "No." For example, due to the questioner's intention, sometimes one says that the shapa tree itself is not a tree, because one thinks that the general concept of "tree" is not just the shapa tree, but there are also fir trees, etc. This is like saying "conditioned things are not a vase." Even if one says that, one does not say that the shapa tree is not a tree, or that the vase is not a conditioned thing. Similarly, even if one says "all is not sound," then the general term "all" will become applicable only to sound, thus preventing it from applying to a single sound. Even if it becomes the meaning of "only sound is not all," merely such a difference does not abandon the general, because sound is not all, or is not excluded from all, but is included in it. If it is not included in it, then for all the particulars that are considered "all," such as vases, etc., if the term "all" does not apply to one aspect of the general, sound, then similarly, the application of the term "all" will become non-existent. Therefore, the term "all" will not become general, because it is impossible for there to be even one of its particulars that becomes the object to which it applies. Therefore, it will become similar to terms such as the empty expression "son of a barren woman." Therefore, if the term "all" is taken as a comprehensive term with the meaning of everything that is known in the world, then it will be unreasonable to do so. That is, when using "all is impermanent" as a reason to prove that sound is permanent.

How does it become when one aspect of an example that does not agree in meaning is stated? Although everything is impermanent, sound is not everything, so in meaning it can be established as permanent. When stated in this way, sound is included in everything, so it is a linguistic fault. Second, point out the fault and eliminate the argument. First, this sound of "everything" is not held as an object without omission as it is said in the world, but is held as something, that is, what the speaker wants to express, according to the speaker's idea, considering how much to use the word "everything", so it is thought that everything except sound can be called "everything". If so, sound is permanent, because it is not the non-existence of everything. In terms of meaning, this reason means that everything other than sound is not sound itself, therefore, sound is permanent, because it is sound. There is no difference in meaning between this and "sound is not all non-existence", so it will become that the words "all non-existence that is not sound" and "sound" are synonymous. If so, then this cannot be taken as a reason, because in this way the reason must appear in the mind as the knowable dharma and the knower cause are different, therefore, if the self-nature of the dharma becomes the object of the argument, then, because the cause and the possessor of dharma are not other entities, this cause cannot be established as the knower, therefore, the dharma itself cannot be established as its own proposition, because the aspect of knowable and knower is impossible. Second, argue and eliminate for saying so. Because it is a nature cause, eliminate the same argument. Eliminate the argument for the Vaisheshika school. First, briefly indicate and explain in detail. First, like this pointing out the fault, if according to your point of view, when establishing the nature cause, for all things, dharma and possessor of dharma have no distinction in meaning, therefore, the fault exists equally in oneself and others. We do not have that fault, because like the sound of made and impermanent, there is no difference in meaning, but there is a difference in the difference of reverse. Second, admitting the reverse does not have that fault. Others are not the same as that. First, there is no opportunity to argue for the fictitious. Just by fictitious, the name can be established. The fictitious also does not deceive the way of meaning. First, if it is established as knowable and knower because of the difference in reverse, it will be like smoke indicating fire, the sound itself will not become the nature of made and impermanent, and the nature
