The to-be-established and the establishing do not abandon the common basis. Even if self-reflexivity is not mixed, they become common generalities. It is like considering it to be both the proposition and a part of the establishing. Second, if one determines the latter from the former, it will not benefit one's own intention. Because that only becomes a non-possessive exclusion, it will not become the meaning of excluding what possesses other than the proposition. How is it? If the word "proposition" is previously determined only by a suffix or the tone of "nyid," then that is meaningless, because it must be said to be what is later determined by the reason or force of meaninglessness. If that is the case, then it is understood that that statement is the result of pervading the proposition. Because it is necessary for the non-possessive exclusion that only shows the proposition pervading the to-be-established. Even so, although it is certain that the proposition is the nature of the to-be-established, there is no reason why that nature does not apply to the unestablished establishing, so the previous fault remains. Second, refuting examples that appear to be sides. For those who think they are contradictory, refute after examining. For those who think they are only reasons, refute after examining. First, separately refute the question and the intention. First, the Lokayata says: If the sign and the proposition are contradictory, then since the debater is not related to the object of intention, it is a fault of the proposition. For example: Sound is permanent, because everything is impermanent. This is a fault of the proposition because the sign and the proposition are contradictory. In this way, the way in which the proposition becomes faulty by the power of the sign is, does that sign not benefit the to-be-established, the object of intention? Or do the sign and the to-be-established not coexist? This is the question being made. Second, it is not reasonable to be only unfavorable, it is not reasonable to not coexist. First, if that sign does not benefit the to-be-established, like that is a fault of the proposition, then all the faults of the sign, contradictory, uncertain, unestablished, etc., must become faults of the proposition. However, it has also been said before that the fault of one's own side does not depend on other parts of the establishing. Second, like establishing sound as permanent with the sign of being made, if the intention, i.e., the to-be-established, does not coexist, then even if that sign cannot establish the to-be-established, or that sign has not been established as the establishing, it is a fault of the sign, not of the proposition.

No. Second, analyzing that reason. Those are not valid as reasons. Saying that is flawed. First, there are two aspects: the object and its reason. First, the statement "because everything is impermanent" implies that if all things are considered impermanent, and it possesses the limb of proof, the reason, then when expressing that syllogism in the manner of establishing the property of the subject on the subject, sound, it would become contradictory to assert that sound is permanent while holding that everything is impermanent, and it would be impossible to speak. If this must be the reason and the assertion that sound is permanent, then this syllogism only points out one aspect of the example of dissimilar instances, merely showing the nature of the sign, and what other meaning can be seen? Nothing at all. Moreover, even apparent reasons must be regarded as related in illusion, but if sound is also included in the category of everything impermanent, then it is not appropriate to assert that it is permanent. Second, it must become as just stated, because the reason for that is that the word "everything" expresses the distinction or characteristic of the object, and for sound, it specifically points out the other quality of permanence, and then it is said that the general term "everything" also applies afterwards, so the statement that everything is impermanent does not take the subject, sound, as the pervader. If it were, after acknowledging the characteristic that sound is permanent, what result would there be in applying the general term "everything is impermanent" afterwards? It would be like the words of a madman. Then, isn't it similar to saying "my mother is a prostitute"? Those are contradictory to one's own words, but if it were the same, one would have to say that sound is permanent and also impermanent, so what is the use of setting it up as a reason? Permanence and impermanence are definitely contradictory, and even if one speaks directly like that, it is just a fruitless assertion. Therefore, saying that as a reason, because "everything is impermanent" does not eliminate the assertion with the sign. If it were to eliminate the permanence of sound, then the teacher Dignāga said that the impermanence of sound itself eliminates permanence, as sound abides in its own character. It is only after inferentially determining that sound does not have permanence that it goes to eliminate permanence. Second, regarding how such a statement is flawed, there is the object and the establishment of its validity. First, everything
