Since the sole arising is unseen, it is said that multiple causes produce a single effect. Even a single cause, in relation to different effects, becomes a collection of both immediate and cooperative conditions. Therefore, from the aspect of aiding the differentiation of effects, the single cause is said to produce multiple effects. Although speaking of one and many does not establish one or many potencies, it should be understood that the object itself, through the interdependence of assembled causes and conditions, merely generates such an effect, and not that each different potency within the object separately produces effects. Secondly, refuting the view of simultaneously grasping the meaning-consciousness. If it is said that the subsequent consciousness, which cuts off the previous consciousness, simultaneously grasps both the external object and the previous consciousness, then there would be no fault of neither the consciousness nor the object being experienced. Because the single object itself appears twice, sequentially, the mental consciousness arises sequentially in relation to the object. And the term "etc." indicates that the objects of the sense consciousnesses, although focusing on a single object, do not always occur simultaneously but sequentially. Even expressions like "A, I" would appear as non-sequential simultaneously. The single preceding "A" would also appear twice in the mind. Because "A, self-awareness" appears during the time of the first consciousness, and the consciousness focusing on "A" also appears again as "A" during the time of the subsequent consciousness. The preceding consciousness cannot be grasped separately from the distinction of the object, and when the preceding subject is clearly experienced, the object will also be clear as it is focused upon, and there will be no clarity or obscurity, nearness or distance between the two. Therefore, when the conceptual consciousness sequentially focuses on letters, each letter will also appear twice, before and after. The consciousness that experiences the preceding eye consciousness will also grasp the sound of its own time, so the previous form and the present sound would appear simultaneously. The above was argued based on the opponent's belief that there is another consciousness that continuously and completely experiences one's own continuum. Now, secondly, refuting the view of not experiencing the final consciousness. This is divided into the main text and the refutation of answers that avoid faults. First, as previously stated, by examining in this way, one's own consciousness

Seeing the unavoidable fault that if held by another (consciousness), both meaning and knowledge cannot be experienced. If the earlier and earlier consciousnesses experience in sequence, when the last (consciousness) of the continuum transfers to another object, the last moment of experiencing the previous consciousness is not experienced by another consciousness, but transfers to the object. If one's own consciousness experiences continuously, then experiencing the object is absolutely impossible, if you say so. Then, the last (consciousness) is like a vase in an empty room, even if it exists, it cannot be known to exist, and it will become that one has not experienced it at all. Moreover, just as it is experienced by another (consciousness), all of one's own consciousnesses will also become impossible to experience, because not experiencing the last (consciousness) is because of experiencing the object, then when experiencing the object is arising, since it is impossible to experience consciousness, for a person with the uninterrupted appearance of experiencing the object, all the consciousnesses that arise in oneself will become having passed without being experienced. For a madman whose mind is not stable, if you ask what you have done, because it is like having nothing to say, afterwards I saw this, I heard this, it will become that nothing can be remembered, so it is very laughable. Second, if you say that even if there is no self-awareness, because it is the consciousness of one's own continuum, therefore my experience is my own direct perception, and being experienced by another (consciousness) will become not my own direct perception. With what reason can the difference between direct perception and non-direct perception be explained, even if one can only state the proposition, if one does not want self-awareness, merely because it is the consciousness of one's own continuum, how is it established that it becomes direct perception to oneself or that I have experienced it? Just as one's own eyes cannot see oneself, do you not want to not recognize yourself? Can one remember what has not been experienced in a way that is certain to be like this? Think about it. He said: Although the eyes themselves cannot see themselves, just as one can recognize whether one's own eyes are clear or unclear, even without self-awareness and self-illumination, one can recognize one's own knowledge through the means of other-awareness and clarity. The eye faculty is the cause of the clarity of knowledge, therefore even if it is not established as the nature of self-awareness and clarity, it can still obtain the name of clarity by relying on the fruit knowledge, rather than the (eyes) wanting to be clear.
