It is also impossible for it to exist. Third, in summarizing the points, it distinguishes and explains whether or not scriptures are needed. It is an examination of the scriptures as proof. First, for the realm of reasoning based on direct perception, scriptures cannot cause harm. Therefore, for matters that are widely known through the reasoning of the two valid cognitions, even if the treatises are not taken as proof and are abandoned, there is no fault. For extremely obscure matters, if treatises are not accepted, then it is impossible to analyze that matter itself, because there is no other means of measurement. Second, it explains the difference between scriptures that cannot be used as proof and scriptures that can be used as proof. First, for scriptures that explain extremely obscure matters, the examination of whether they deceive or not is mostly an examination of whether the words of the scriptures themselves are contradictory or not. If the scriptures do not definitively explain the meaning they intend to convey, then that is a contradiction. For example, it is like this: the Vedas acknowledge that attachment, hatred, etc., are the root of non-dharma and non-virtue, and then again acknowledge that merely bathing in water can purify these non-dharmas. However, bathing does not contradict the three poisons, which are the cause of non-dharma, so how can it purify the sins within sentient beings? Therefore, the scripture that desires dharma from bathing cannot be established without confusion for extremely obscure matters. Discipline, concentration, and wisdom gradually harm the evil conduct arising from afflictions, the all-encompassing bonds of its cause, and the seeds of its latent tendencies. Therefore, the scriptures that explain these as antidotes to non-dharma are in accordance with reason. Second, for matters that can be seen by direct perception and inference, that is, can be proven, and those that cannot be seen, that is, cannot be proven, how do the scriptures explain extremely obscure matters? In response to this, according to the order, for the realm that reason can decide, like that, it is established by reason, and when explaining the third object of measurement, any treatise that does not have any self-contradiction and is pure by the three examinations, therefore, such a treatise should be regarded as the proof for measuring the meaning of the third matter without error. Precisely because of this, relying on such scriptures, it becomes possible to analyze extremely obscure objects of measurement as "this and this," and not just anything that is called a scripture. Second, refuting fame, it explains the nature of refuting fame itself, and explains the examples, metaphors, and intentions for its establishment.

The meaning of distinguishing and excluding. First, the nature of the excluder's fame and how it excludes will be explained. First. In the Autocommentary of the Sutra, it says: Since there is nothing in common, inference does not exist, and the combination of meanings that contradict the fame arising from sound, such as "The one with a rabbit is not the moon, because it exists," and so on. That is, the statement "the one with a rabbit is not the moon" is excluded because it is commonly known in the world that the moon is a rabbit. In the "Gate of Reasoning," it says: "A human skull is clean, because it is a part of a sentient being, like a conch shell." This is also an example of exclusion based on the fame that a human skull is unclean. Among these, the former example is mainly cited, and its reason and the meaning of "since there is nothing in common," etc., are explained in detail. First, does the term "excluder fame" in this context refer to all fame in the world? Or, if excluded by fame, does it correspond to an inference where the commitment cannot be established? It is not merely fame; here, fame is related to the mere desire of a person. Therefore, the meaning expressed by an arbitrary sound that exists independently of other things is unrestrictedly applicable to all things. Therefore, for a certain thing, no matter what sound is given, there is no reason not to give it, because there is no reason to explain why it cannot be given. Therefore, harmless language or sound is something that people believe to be so, and through their own experience, a deep trust arises, and there is no need for doubt. Because when newly naming something, no matter what name is given, it is not given arbitrarily without obstruction, but is determined through one's own experience. Here, based on the fact that people believe, no matter what name is given, it is harmless language. Why can everything be expressed by any sound one desires? Because it comes solely from the person, that is, the namer's own desire, just as the arranger has great freedom in arranging pebbles. Therefore, anything that exists in the object of cognition arises from language.
