There will be no omissions. Secondly, it will not become meaningless, because the meaning of the doctrine lies in abandoning what one does not want and accepting and committing to what one wants. If someone asks, what is the purpose of saying "oneself"? Then, what is the root of the doubt that "is it because oneself wants to accept, or not"? No matter what doctrine is accepted, the debater himself is bound to accept it, so who would have doubts that need to be dispelled by saying "oneself wants"? This is impossible. If it is said that one accepts the doctrine because one wants to, then among the two types of people, the sharp and the dull, the first type, the sharp one, if the content of the doctrine is not negated by प्रमाण (pramāṇa, valid cognition), then what reason is there to prevent him from accepting the doctrine because he wants to? If he knows that the content of the doctrine is negated by प्रमाण, then knowing this, what reason is there to believe and accept the doctrine merely because of the words of others? He will not accept it. Therefore, it is impossible to have doubts about the object of desire that the debater himself does not accept. Those dull debaters, the previous sects were also accepted merely out of their own desire, and there was no reason to obtain certainty through reasoning. Then, even if they want to later, how can they not accept other sects? Because it completely depends on desire. Therefore, it is necessary to want what one does not want, as if it fell from the sky, like the order of a king, but in the case of sects, for the thing to be proven, such a situation is impossible. Therefore, it is also impossible to have doubts. If there is no doubt, then at the end of the definition, what is the use of adding a word that has no result of excluding ambiguity? It will become meaningless. If someone thinks that even if one does not have the intention, there are cases where one accepts the sects of others in order to cater to others, then such a situation is merely to test the other party, becoming a game, not a proper debate through the power of facts. Even in that case, the thing that one has committed to prove is the thing to be proven, so in that case, it will not become what one does not want. Third, the summary of the points is: knowing that the content of the doctrine that is not related to the current thing to be proven does not harm the current object of desire; even if the doctrine has been committed to, one must know that not all of the content of the doctrine is the current thing to be proven; if so, then the thing to be proven will not be completely

Due to the teachings, in order to eliminate all the misconceptions that consider the meaning of the scriptures as something to be proven in a specific situation, therefore in the Compendium of Topics, when explaining the definition of the subject, the word "self" is used. Second, refuting the view that understands the meaning of the word "self" as other meanings. Including stating the view and refuting it. First, some commentators of the Compendium of Topics say that in order to grasp the differences caused by different schools such as outsiders and insiders, completely abandoning the things that are taken as the subject of debate, and taking the things that are universally recognized by both debaters as the meaning to be grasped, therefore the word "self" is used. Second, revealing the fault of being unreasonable. Refuting the details of the answer to this. First, just because both debaters are studying the same subject of debate, then the basis of the subject of debate that is commonly recognized by both parties is naturally established, because it has been recognized that the basis is not established, and no one studies its differences. There is no dispute about the meaning that is universally recognized and established between the cowherds. If so, the universally recognized and established subject of debate is the subject, but because their respective intentions are different, therefore for the things that are considered to be the difference after investigation, they are taken as the things to be proven, because there is no dispute. In short, the separate subject of debate is not something to be proven, because it needs to be distinguished by what dharma in order to generate the intention to understand, therefore, since it is not considered that the subject of debate that one wants to understand or the meaning of the collection needs to be proven by reasoning, then how can it be considered that only the universally recognized subject of debate is something to be proven? Because it does not need to be proven. And, since their respective intentions are determined separately, it is admitted that it is not something to be proven. And, it is impossible to list in "the sound of impermanence is the subject of debate, it is impermanent," etc. If one does not take the inconsistent intentions as something to be proven to argue, then it is impossible to argue about the things that have the same intention, therefore it is impossible to determine which side is the subject of debate at the time of the debate. Second, including the subject of debate that has been established by valid cognition, and the refutation of the unestablished self-characteristic. First, if it is said that, because "self" is said, therefore by showing that the meaning that one has promised has already been established by valid cognition, thereby showing that the separate subject of debate that is universally recognized is not something to be proven, because it needs to be newly proven for the other party, therefore the word "self"
