If it is said that even for things that are already established, they are to be excluded, that is not the case. Because the statement "the nature of what is to be established" and the statement of the particle 'only' or 'solely', that is, the statement "manifesting only the nature", can understand that what is already established is not what is to be established. Since it is already understood, saying the word "self" again for that meaning becomes meaningless. If it is not desired that the word "self" is to cut off what is already established, then if there is doubt as to whether something to be established has already been established, and whether it also appears as the nature of what can be established, then saying "appearing to others as the thing to be established itself", these two statements of nature and particle, will have the result of decisiveness. Second, the sound of decisiveness is meaningless, and such a fault is not a fault of the subject. First, if it is said that because "the nature of what is to be established" is said, it is to cut off that the unestablished self-characteristics such as the chief are what is to be established, therefore there is also decisiveness for that, then the teacher has already said that all inferences are the object of the general, so when explaining the characteristics of the subject, even if it is not said that the non-self-characteristic is not what is to be established, there is no contradiction of non-pervasion and over-pervasion for the subject alone, because there is such a proposition, and there is also a situation of non-establishment exclusion in the mind. Second, if someone asks, if an unestablished dharma like the chief is made the thing to be established, what fault will arise from that? The answer is, whatever self-characteristic is not established by valid cognition cannot be established. If you ask why it cannot be established? The answer is, when it is taken as the subject, no matter what sign is set, there is no concomitance in the example. If you say, is not the absence of concomitance, etc., the fault of those establishers? Is the later branch, that is, what the establisher's example and sign themselves depend on, considered a fault of the subject? It is not considered so, because the fault of the subject is established in dependence on the subject itself. If you think that the establisher is flawed, so it cannot establish the subject, so it is a fault of the subject, then the fault of the establisher also becomes a fault of the subject, then the faults of reason and example, etc., will also become faults of the subject, because

All defects that cause the inability to fulfill the commitment will harm the thesis (subject) due to their defects. Therefore, in the view of rational people, if it is stated that "sound is impermanent because it is measurable," then the impermanence of sound will not be a correct proposition, because the defect of an uncertain reason will cause the thesis to be defective. Therefore, the thesis does not depend on the defects of the subsequent members, but any defect related to the nature of the commitment itself is considered a defect of the thesis, not the defect of other arguments. For example, just committing to the proposition, without relying on the argument, becomes a defect, such as the commitment that "sound is not audible" contradicts the direct perception, and so on, such as the self-contradiction that "my mother is a widow," just the commitment becomes a defect. Regarding this, some people seem to explain it in a way that shows that one's own voice should not be mentioned in order to universally understand that self-nature is not the proposition, but this is a bit inappropriate. Third, the necessity of the definition, classification, and summary of the thesis is to: refute the entity and its disputes. The first point is: through distinction, it is shown as five types; through complete exclusion, it is shown as one type. First, "cause" refers to the reason, that is, the term of Hetu, and generally "cause" can be translated as cause, but in the context, it can also be translated as reason, because it (cause) is the cause that makes the proposition understood. Similarly, the example is also included through the word "etc." Therefore, in order to eliminate the errors related to the definition of the argument's members, it is necessary to eliminate the errors of the thesis's own definition, that is, non-pervasion and over-pervasion. Therefore, the definition of the thesis is explained as having five characteristics. For example, the four, namely self, suffix, the sound of nature, and uneliminated and eliminated, are used to eliminate over-pervasion, thereby eliminating others that are not the thesis, such as the intention of the author of the treatise and the unestablished argument, etc. The word "intention" is used to eliminate the situation where although it is a thesis, it is not covered by the definition of the thesis, that is, the proposition of the intention that is not explicitly stated, and the proposition of the sign used in the context.
