If it is a fault to assume that there is a fallacious valid cognition, then why is it that here, the established conclusions of the words of the ancient sages, who are far superior to ordinary people, are not wanted as a basis, but it is thought that what contradicts them is also established by reasoning? Because for one object of dharma, such as sound, contradictions such as permanence and impermanence cannot be established on the same basis, so for contradictions, a non-erroneous valid cognition is impossible in any way. Therefore, only what is correctly established by reasoning exists as it is, and it is not certain that it is established in that way merely by what is said in the scriptures, because the author may have prejudice and make mistakes. Therefore, the meaning of the scriptures such as 'sound is permanent' has no establishment whatsoever in reality, but you arrogantly assume that it is established in that way according to your own wishes, and on that basis you have made this uncertain statement. Like having made a logical argument, that kind of argument, for an object of dharma such as sound, will harm your own object to be proven, impermanence, and what is necessarily contradictory to impermanence, such as permanence. And, proving that sound is permanent is completely impossible, and the scriptures cannot slightly prove permanence, so when proving that sound is impermanent by the power of reality, there is not even a slight contradiction of the kind where both permanence and impermanence are established, because it is established as impermanent in every way, like the heat of fire. Or, it is also said that the power of reality can show contradictions in the scriptures, but the scriptures cannot establish contradictions in reasoning, which is just a different way of phrasing it, but the meaning is the same. In this way, those who are rational, etc., without a correct reason, accept the scriptures, and say that all three objects of measurement that are in accordance with those scriptures are determined, which is a sign of extreme stupidity. If the field that reason can decide is established by reason, then it must be known that the scriptures that contradict it are not correct scriptures, and the scriptures cannot refute reason. And, because the meaning of ordinary scriptures may be harmed by the power of reality, if reason harms the scriptures, the scriptures must be abandoned, and reason cannot be abandoned because of the harm of the scriptures, just as a executioner showing the instruments of execution will kill the patient. Therefore, if one's own intelligence is not defiled by faults, and can correctly determine the first two objects of measurement by means of correct reasoning, then one will not accept the scriptures that are necessarily contradictory to it, and the third object of measurement depends on the correct scriptures, not on rea
