Like this, because there is harm, that reason (hetu) will never change from its own nature of being able to establish its connection, just as saying that fire is cold will not change its heat. That reason is considered to be related to the meaning of the desired establishment and the way of not arising without it by the debater, how can that reason establish what is to be established for others who debate for the sake of debate? Because it has the reason of the power of things joining, just as holding a candle in hand can illuminate things in a dark room. Second, reasoning and refuting the arguments therein, first, having previously promised that the scriptures are valid, and later saying reasons that contradict those scriptures, so this debater is unreasonable, if you say so. Even if the reason that harms most of the meaning of the scriptures is said or not, if by the power of things, that reason contradicts the meaning of the treatise, then what fault has the debater made to this treatise? That reason harms the treatise with the fault said by the debater, that reason is not newly born, because the nature exists to harm. If you say that for the promised treatise, it is not reasonable to say harm in any way, the person who said the reason that contradicts the treatise, because he actually said the harm to the treatise, knowing that there is harm, will not generate great joy to the treatise, so the fault of those debaters is like a son exposing his father's shortcomings, if you say so. If that reason that harms the meaning of the scriptures is not said by the debater, then what is that reason?

Moreover, it is precisely because it speaks of what is to be said in order to establish, and it speaks of the fact that the object to be established, which is posited as an apparent means of establishment, has no meaning whatsoever, so the wisdom of the one who posits such a means of establishment will become a fault, even if it contradicts other scriptures, but stating the correct reason for the means of establishment, because it is able to establish one's own intention, so in this case, there is no time when it becomes a fault for the opponent. Second, the entity and its reason, two. First, if impermanence is established by being made, if it harms the permanent void spoken of in the scriptures, then the meaning of the promised scripture will also harm impermanence, so neither will be established? This is a very unreasonable statement. If, like the sound of being made, it is established that sound is impermanent, then some of the sounds mentioned in some of the treatises of the Lokayatas and others, such as the sound being permanent and the qualities of space, are not established by reason, so like the sound being impermanent, the statement of reason that is in accordance with the reality of things will also be hindered by others, which is like the behavior of a king of bad lineage. For example, some kings, angry at someone who does something unreasonable, also punish others who do good deeds. Moreover, on the Dharma characteristic sound and so on, making the meaning of all the scriptures the same, no one can say the reason for the means of establishment, because the meaning of each scripture is different, such as sound being permanent and impermanent. If there is no real power, and it is established only by scripture, then the power of any scripture is not equal, not just words. Even if one scripture is the main one, it is difficult to indicate all the Dharmas spoken of on that Dharma characteristic, as mentioned above. Therefore, in any case, the nature of the object to be established and the means of establishment that you have established will be destroyed, because it is impossible to find a time when the means of establishment that establishes the object to be established without fault is found. Second, the entity and its continuous refutation. First, even if the meaning of the scripture is refuted, it will not become a defective reason, then how can it become a defective means of establishment to say that there is a valid measure that does not confuse contradictions? Because the two valid measures establish permanence and impermanence separately on one basis, in this way for contradictions.
