If there is contradiction, the treatise will cause harm, because it is not appropriate to think that the correct treatise contradicts the meaning established by that treatise. If there is contradiction, then because one's own wisdom is reversed, one will obtain a non-place. That is to say, for the first two objects to be measured by direct perception and inference, the treatise should not contradict either. If it contradicts such a treatise, it will only be harmed by logical reasoning, and there is no need to say that it is harmed by scriptural authority. For the third object of measurement, it is a shift of thought, that is, when observing at that time, since direct perception and inference cannot establish it, it is reasonable to take the correct treatise for measuring the extremely hidden meaning. For example, for the sake of the next life, such as teaching the cause and effect of acceptance and rejection, etc., it should not be ignored. For things that one's own intellect cannot decide, there is no choice but to rely on the correct scriptural authority. Thus, when relying on scriptural authority to contemplate the third object, one should also avoid the pledge and establishment of the thesis that harms the Dharma itself to be established at that time, or the Dharma related to its non-existence, and one should not observe whether other matters unrelated to the thesis to be established at that time are contradictory. If so, the matter of observation will be endless. Because the meaning of all the scriptures is difficult to obtain, if it is necessary to keep all of these in mind and observe them, it will be too much. For example, if one holds the name of the Protector Amitabha (Tibetan: མགོན་པོ་འོད་དཔག་ཏུ་མེད་པ་) and generates faith, one will be reborn in that realm. If this is established by scripture, then it will be thought that if the scripture says that realm is completely occupied by one rebirth, it will harm the Dharma to be established. Also, for obtaining the noble path, it is necessary to have the practice of accumulating countless accumulations of merit pervading the path of intention. If it is thought that other scriptures will harm this non-existence relationship, then that scripture is an obstacle to the non-establishment of that thesis. If it cannot be proved that the above-mentioned scriptures do not contradict the scriptures at that time, then because of the harm of the scriptures, ordinary people cannot be reborn in Sukhavati.

That which is accomplished by it is not accomplished. Although it is said that all those born in Sukhavati are bound by one birth, it does not contradict the meaning of the scriptures that those who are newly born are immediately born there. Once born in that field, there is no doubt that they will be bound by one birth, just as unpleasant sounds are certain to last for a thousand years, and after death, they are certain to be born in the three realms. Moreover, when one sees the Tathagata who resides near the Bodhi tree king, one will obtain the distinction of dharani and samadhi, and one will obtain freedom from the dust of the Dharma eye. To be born in that field, it is not necessary to have necessarily gone through the gradual purification of the stage of causal practice beforehand. By the power of the Tathagata's aspiration, one sees the appearance of the Buddha at the time of death. Those who have doubts are also said to have obstacles that prevent them from seeing the Buddha for five hundred years in the lotus bud for a while. This statement eliminates the doubt that one can only be born after attaining the noble path. Furthermore, except for those who have abandoned the Dharma and committed the five heinous crimes, it is specifically stated that by the inconceivable power of the Buddha, just as practitioners of mantras can obtain results in a short time, the stage of faith practice can be completed in a short time, as established by the scriptures themselves. Therefore, one should not introduce reasoning to prove that it is impossible. Also, one should not use the scriptures themselves to establish harm to the object to be established, or to harm other meanings that do not arise without it. One should use such metaphors to understand how to establish the object to be established by the scriptures. Similarly, just as the scriptures show how a small object offered to the Buddha can accomplish a great result of happiness, the scriptures cannot establish harm, so it is established in this way. For example, the scriptures establish that the one who prostrates will surely become many universal monarchs. The scriptures say that if the root of virtue is not destroyed by the opposing side, then it will surely change in this way, so it cannot be established as an absolute certainty. Thus, when examining based on the scriptures, if one divides in detail such things as the scriptures harming what is promised, then the third one measures with the scriptures, but the meaning of the scriptures, whether the scriptures harm the actual existence.
