Thus, the appearance of liking and disliking is not the appearance of the object itself in its naked essence, because there would be the fault of the object becoming the nature of many forms of liking and disliking. For example, when a person is seen, enemies and friends each see what is pleasing and displeasing, and similarly, for objects such as form and sound, when the sense consciousness of each object sees them, they appear to be in accordance with and not in accordance with that sense consciousness, and even when there is no conceptual thought, there are different appearances. Because the way it appears must be established on the naked essence of the object itself, if the object itself appears naked without the function of the mind, then everything should appear the same, and there should be no difference. Second, refuting the debate and preventing its answer. First, even if it is admitted that the different forms of liking and disliking are established on the nature of the object, how liking and disliking exist, these two will not appear simultaneously as different, because each person will not experience their own appearance. This actually says: Although things are one, minds are different, so what is desired is not established. Although the reasoning method is the same, meaningless arguments are not used here, even if it is assumed to be meaningful, because the difference in appearance is undeniable, so experiencing things can only be done through consciousness. Second, the prevention of the answer that one part is obscured by karma and the other appears as two by conceptual thought. First, if it is said that what the viewer of the object does not see is because their own karma obscures it, so they do not see everything, then, if this is the case, by virtue of the existence of external objects, it will not be recognized by the mind. For example, the object with the nature of multiple appearances, which is considered to be the cause of generating sense consciousness, even if it exists when the object is close, when the mind that takes it as its object sees any one nature, even if what is not seen is a fact, then how can the object itself be seen by consciousness? Even if the object exists in the appropriate position, it will not become the cause of generating consciousness. Thus, for what has been seen, there will also be doubt as to whether it appears from the power of the object, and thus liking and disliking will arise for the object itself.

For that which is indivisible into separate parts and exists by its very nature, if a phenomenon appears that is inconsistent with its form, it is established that it does not appear by the power of the thing itself, but like the appearance of two moons, etc. Therefore, it will not become that the thing necessarily exists. Some say that "not seeing" means that other things are obscured by the power of karma. If that karma causes the thing itself to appear in its own form as a single form, then how can "not seeing" be the cause of seeing external things? In fact, it will become the cause of mistakenly appearing as other forms of things that have multiple natures. In that case, what appears to oneself is only the appearance of each person's karma, and it will not become a common thing. This is also explained to illustrate this point. Secondly, if it is thought that the appearance of liking and disliking towards the same object is only the discrimination of the mind, just as a person with attachment and aversion sees a woman due to the power of habit, and it is not that the sense consciousness that grasps the object itself appears the same or different, because all non-erroneous sense consciousness directly perceives the object itself. Then, even that sense consciousness is not certain to see things as they are, as one person sees them, due to the signs of death, jaundice, and the differences in the sense faculties of various beings, etc. Rather, one sees some kind of appearance, or it does not match what was seen before, or it contradicts other thoughts. Therefore, even sense consciousness is not necessarily certain to reveal the true nature of things. Even if the senses are not damaged by cataracts or other diseases, the things seen are different, and one also sees that each person's sense consciousness produces various forms of happiness and suffering. For example, in the signs of death, one previously saw one's beloved son, but later sees an undesirable form, and so on. Similarly, for the same sound, there will be states of hearing followed by entering or turning away, and so on. The sense consciousness of some beings produces happiness, while the sense consciousness of others produces suffering. These are not necessarily just choices of the mind, even when livestock, etc., are given food that they have not eaten before, the tongue consciousness tastes and eats it in a happy form, and some discard it. Here, it is only spoken according to this extent, but if one thinks by taking this as an example, then a person with jaundice sees a conch shell as yellow.
