This what, not only is it a consciousness with an object, but also for letters, if it is thought that there is no order of moments, and that they arise all at once without parts, there is also the fault that the sound of the letters is permanent. If the parts of the letters arise without depending on their previous parts, then the sound of a long A, just as it previously lasted until the end, will continue to exist afterwards as well. If it can exist for two moments, then there is no reason why it cannot exist again, because it exists without depending on the cessation of the cause. Second, for letters that have no order of before and after, and that become the cause of the nature of long, etc., once the tongue, palate, etc., are applied to the first part and it has already arisen, then the subsequent efforts become meaningless, because there is no difference between the previous part and the subsequent part. Some theorists think that letters are indivisible, permanent natures that exist in space, and that they are merely revealed through effort. For this view, the above-mentioned fault also remains, because once one part has manifested, it is necessary to reveal the part that has become its indivisible nature. The above is to refute the idea that one hearing consciousness can apprehend a long sound. Second, regarding the unreasonableness of multiple consciousnesses apprehending a long sound, it is divided into: refuting the sequential arising of multiple apprehenders, and refuting simultaneous arising. First, it is divided into: not mixing with other experiencers, and the unreasonableness of arising after mixing. First, if multiple object-possessing hearing consciousnesses apprehend the multiple parts of a sound, then among these consciousnesses, there is not one that can apprehend a long sound, because all are momentary object-possessors. If it is necessary to experience the long sound at the moment of the consciousness that has the last part as its object, then the last consciousness also only apprehends one moment of its own time, so no one experiences the long sound, and therefore the consciousness of the long sound will not be remembered, because there is no such consciousness. Second, establishing the fault and refuting its answer. First, if it is said that the consciousnesses that apprehend the moments by the object are each individually experienced by other consciousnesses, then it is necessary to generate the momentary hearing consciousness of the object of sound, and the momentary consciousness of the object of hearing, one after the other. If this is the case, then the sound heard in the object of hearing will not appear to be without interruption, because it is interrupted by other dissimilar consciousnesses. Second, because the entry is rapid, the

Not connecting. Sense consciousness (Dwang shes) is not connecting. Mental consciousness (Yid kyi shes pa) is not connecting. First, although the interval of sound consciousness (Dra shes) is cut off by mind consciousness (Blo shes pa), the entry of mind is so rapid that it also acts as a connection earlier. Letters are also eliminated by hearing them all at once, etc. If the interval of the sound itself is seen to be cut off by others, but the entry is so rapid that it is mistaken for being uninterrupted, then even if two short letters like "A A" are spoken, it will be mistaken for being uninterrupted, just like speaking the long sound "Ah". The length of these two is the same, and the rapidity of their uninterrupted entry is also the same. Therefore, even if minds of different types are cut off by extremely subtle means, they will not be mistaken for being uncut. Second, the thesis and the establishment thereof. First, if one sees that the objects are distinguished by the ear sense (Rna ba'i dbang pos), that is, by the consciousness that relies on the sense (Dwang po la brten pa'i shes pa), and yet one thinks that the real aspect that appears clearly to the sense itself has the power to fabricate without interruption, then it is not right. Because all the sense minds (Dwang po'i blo) are entirely inverted in seeing their own objects. No matter which of the five objects is seen, it is impossible to see it without interruption, and all the sense consciousnesses that appear uninterruptedly, like the appearance of a wheel on a torch, will become illusions. Second, the essence of all letters, even the shortest limit, is only the extent to which the action of a person's eyes closing is completed. The duration of a single short letter is not without parts. Gradually, the particles of the sound part are not mixed, but appear one after another in sequence, transferring from one to another and connecting continuously, so the duration is complete. The superposition of one ultimate particle, that is, the time that elapses, is the ultimate limit of smallness, and such a time is also considered to be an instant. Sound has parts, and the parts that arise gradually, if analyzed by making them more and more subtle, will eventually be exhausted to the extent of the opportunity of the ultimate particle. Therefore, the part between opening and closing the eyes, like a stack of lotus petals, requires the transfer, opening, and closing of particles. For example, when a hundred stacked lotus petals are pierced quickly with a needle, one can learn by analogy from the length of time it takes to pierce them sequentially. Thus, because the object is momentary, the object
