If it is said that it is because it has not been seen, then whether the experience of the object and the experience of the object-possessor exist together or not should be examined by the reasoning of the occasion. Since it has not been established that there is no simultaneous experience, it cannot establish anything. Or, if it is rejected merely because it has not been seen, then why is the obstruction not rejected since it has not been seen either? If one thinks that even though it has not been seen, it is like that if it is analyzed, it is also said that not seeing two minds simultaneously is also to be analyzed. Second, explain the meaning of the scriptures truthfully with reason, and also dispel other wrong conceptions about it. First, two consciousnesses do not arise simultaneously. In the sutras, it is said: Is it not said that it is impossible for two minds to arise simultaneously without before and after? That is to say that the minds of one's own continuum, like the eye consciousness that grasps blue, have a definite ability for each and every one of the same kind as oneself, but it does not mean that many different kinds do not arise simultaneously. Since one proximate cause cannot have many different proximate results, it is correctly understood that similar discriminations arise gradually one after another in one's own continuum, and it is impossible for them to arise simultaneously. Second, show the object and its rationality. First, showing that similar consciousnesses do not arise simultaneously negates the discrimination of the king's guesser who recognizes the object he is seeing with the present moment, saying, "This is it," and therefore also eliminates the discrimination in the sense present moment. Because the king's guesser thinks that there is no contradiction in two similar consciousnesses arising simultaneously in one continuum, because the present moment and the present moment of recognition arise simultaneously. They say that recognition is also the present moment because the object appears clearly. Those people mistakenly think that the discrimination that is being seen also appears clearly. Second, the rationality that discrimination is not seeing the previous self-characteristic present moment is: when the cut hair grows back, and two eggs and butter lamps and twins, etc., are later determined to be different, when the quantity is determined, the discrimination of recognition that "this is the previous one" also arises, because there is a bright appearance, how can such a mind that mistakes different things as one be the present moment of the previous one?

Therefore, when seeing the self-characteristics individually, it is merely an illusion of grasping them as one by conceptual thought. Because that is an illusion, from the perspective of recognition, letters and forms, etc., are confused in their essence from beginning to end, but they are not necessarily certain in meaning. Because for something that one has previously experienced, from memory, one does not attach the attributes of the previous thing to what is currently seen, nor does one know that the previous thing is this current one. And how does such an attachment arise from the sense consciousness? Because the previous object no longer exists. It is impossible for sense consciousness to grasp the before and after as one, nor is it possible to attach names, etc., to grasp it. Up to this point, because consciousness is not simultaneous, the experience of the previous consciousness is prevented. Now, in order to prevent the second simultaneous consciousness, the contradiction between commitment and reasoning is stated. Through this method, others are also refuted. First, even if they do not arise sequentially, it cannot be said that the consciousness of sound, etc., is experienced by another consciousness that is simultaneous with it, because this contradicts both commitment and reasoning. Why? Because experiencing things and experiencing consciousness itself, other consciousnesses arising simultaneously, is not accepted in your system either, because you commit to one stream of consciousness arising one consciousness at a time. If one examines with reasoning, the appearance of something like a blue object, and the appearance of the consciousness that sees it, are separate and independent, and it is impossible to recognize or experience them as unmixed like blue and yellow. Because no matter how one examines with non-deluded wisdom, if independent consciousness that is not mixed with the object, appearing on the object is invisible, then how can one think that invisible things exist? Even if they exist separately and unmixed, the independent consciousness that appears in meaning, and the external object that is merely a thing, these two independent consciousnesses do not need to appear separately, because the image of the mind is unique, holding them as undifferentiated. Therefore, at the time of experiencing, from the appearance of blue, the appearance of grasping blue does not appear separately. If one thinks like this, that is not correct, because if non-deluded wisdom does not see the difference, then those things will also become undifferentiated. If one thinks that even though wisdom does not see the difference, there is actually a difference, then like a man and a female ghost...
