Because other things cannot exist on their own. If the appearance of things is not experienced by the mind itself in a clear way, then the mind can never be sure whether the thing has become clear. Therefore, the mind must have the experience of "the mind is clear." Second, if one thinks that the so-called "clarity" does not depend on the mind, but is a certain characteristic of the thing itself, then, if the thing itself exists in a clear state, it means that it will not produce clarity, nor will it disappear unclearly, then, for some continuums it is clear, and for others it is not clear, there is no difference, so the clear thing should always be clear to all sentient beings. Similarly, the non-clarity of the thing itself will only be hidden for all things. If one thinks that things have the birth and death of clarity and non-clarity, then, because the knowledge of different individuals is different, the thing itself will not be able to stay for a moment because of clarity and non-clarity, and will eventually disappear. Therefore, how can the characteristic of the clarity of things that does not depend on the mind be established on the thing itself? It cannot be established at all. In this way, the clarity of the momentary difference cannot be determined without relying on the mind. Please think about what is the so-called clarity of things that can establish the mind without having to grasp the momentary difference that meets the mind? Or, if these things are permanent dharmas without birth and death, then the difference between clarity for some minds and non-clarity for others is impossible, therefore, the clarity of special things is not established, because things are permanent dharmas. If things are impermanent, then the things that are the cause of each knowledge will disappear in an instant, then what is the sign of the things that can establish knowledge later, as a manifestation? No one can explain. Second, examine whether things are known or not. Ask questions and point out the faults in them. First, is the clarity of things used as a sign to establish the mind, which means that it is completely determined by knowledge that the thing itself is known? Or, does it mean that the thing itself is not known? This is the question raised. Second, if it is known, it is not established; if it is not known, it is contradictory. First, if you think that things are known by knowledge, and you also know that things are known, then is this a sign?

Hey! First of all, if one can completely sever the knower's own cognition, thereby knowing that one has not seen, then what is the reason for saying "from this one knows this thing"? It's like not knowing fire, it's impossible to know that fire illuminates the vase. Second, even if it has not been determined by valid cognition that one's own mind has recognized that thing, but if one can know that there is mind through that thing, then how can that thing that has not been determined by mind be an indicator of the existence of mind? Because it has no connection with mind. Even if there is no connection, it can become an indicator, then it is too much, because in that case, when others see blue, they will infer that they have a mind that recognizes blue. For example, when one sees blue, etc., one does not know that one's own mind has seen it, and it has been admitted that the manifested thing, which is different from what the mind sees, appears independently of the mind's seeing. Because you think that itself is the sign of establishing mind. In this way, the difference of so-called "one's own mind has seen this thing" will not be seen at any time. Like this, if one uses the independent dharma—manifestation, which has no connection with mind, to establish one's own mind, then the difference of manifestation as a sign just said also exists when others see it, so if one takes what others see as a sign, one will recognize one's own mind, therefore, setting up such an irrelevant sign is really ridiculous. In another place, Deva saw blue, but Dana did not see it at that time, and saw things different from what Dana saw, and because Dana's mind would never see that difference at any time, so Deva seeing blue will infer that there is a mind recognizing blue in Dana's continuum. Therefore, if those things are not seen by one's own mind, then this is equivalent to admitting that even if there is direct perception, it is no different from not having direct perception. For this verse, there are various explanations in Tibetan commentaries, but no in-depth explanation has been seen. Here, I have combined the treatises of both the gods and Shakya, as well as the three ornaments, to extract the key points. Second, to conclude: Because of the above-mentioned reasons
