If someone asks, "What is meant by 'experience'?" This is the prior position. That is, according to the Samkhya school, the similarity of the image of an object appearing in what is called 'intellect' or 'greatness' is what is meant by thought. Here, some argue that since self-awareness is not accepted, it is not a Sautrantika; and since aspects are accepted, it is not a Vaibhashika, therefore this is merely a refutation of the Samkhya view. But even in a common view, 'similar to the object' should not be taken only as a particularity of the aspect of consciousness, but because people wish to apply the term 'experience' to consciousness being in accordance with the object, following the object, or merely seeing the object. Similarly, in the first chapter on valid cognition and its result, the term 'similar to the object' is used, not 'apprehended aspect'. In the second chapter and so on, it has been proven that for 'similar to the object' there is no alternative to the apprehended aspect, therefore there is a distinction between unexamined and examined cases. If merely being similar is said to be experiencing the object, then all similar things would necessarily experience each other. For example, a simultaneous blue object would also experience the apprehension of blue, and twins would experience each other, and so on. In general, the so-called 'similarity' has no part that is dissimilar, because all phenomena are similar in being knowable. Complete similarity is impossible, because similarity exists in two phenomena, and that which has become a different phenomenon is not similar in all respects because it is different. Therefore, even if mere similarity is allowed, it would be too extreme to say that experience is based solely on that. Second, stating the actual meaning and its reason. First, the actual meaning and refuting objections to it. First, if it is said that any phenomenon does not experience another phenomenon merely because of similarity, but that the similarity of consciousness experiences the object that has similarity, then, if that is the case, it is now established that nothing other than similarity is experienced. The so-called similarity of consciousness experiencing another is also because no similar object is experienced merely by similarity, therefore, even if it is said that the similarity of that consciousness is experienced, nothing else is experienced. Experience is merely the arising of consciousness itself as a blue aspect, and it is established that consciousness itself experiences, and experience is done only by self-experience, not by a reason of similarity, because nothing is experienced merely by similarity.

If. Second, if one does not experience things because they are similar to things, and if it is only self-experience in all cases, then is this contradictory to what was said earlier in the first stage of measuring results? When the manner of establishing the function of understanding things and the external blue, etc., as objects to be acted upon, has not been investigated or analyzed, this knowledge that is similar to things becomes the cause for distinguishing between the object to be measured and the result in the world. Because it is not contradictory to describe things as they appear in the world. If one analyzes this, then in the experience of the state of knowledge itself appearing as blue, etc., although there is no actual appearance of an external object, due to the attachment to the external and the error of fabrication, one clings to experiencing the external blue, etc., and that is how it is known. It is not because one experiences the nature of other substances from one's own mind that it is known in this way, but only because one uses terms without analysis. Those who do not accept self-awareness say: If one's own mind appears as blue, etc., then for what reason is it considered that the mind is a valid measure for external objects? Because one has not experienced the external object. If one's own mind does not appear as blue, etc., then how does this knowledge experience the object? Because it is impossible for the mind to directly experience the object, and if the mind itself does not experience, then the term 'experience' will be cut off, which is established by the power of things. Then, one might think, how is the external object established from this reasoning? Without investigation, one uses such terms as they appear, but if one analyzes, then it is impossible to experience other things. We have no refutation for the establishment of this point, and it is appropriate to ask those who desire things. Second, regarding the reason why experience is not due to the similarity of minds: Experience does not need a cause of similarity. If it is needed, then it is too much. First, saying that one experiences things from similarity is merely a term of desire for attachment to external things. When the mind itself is established as the nature of experience merely by appearing in the form of any object, there is nothing that is experienced through similarity. Therefore, it is not a cause of similarity, so the experience of this knowledge is established without relying on similarity, merely by its own appearance. Therefore, there is no experience, what is experienced by other things? There is nothing to establish. If things are the cause.
