It only possesses the apprehended aspect of blueness, and the difference of one aspect compared to that is that the blue apprehension is cognized by knowledge. Otherwise, if the blue apprehension does not possess the aspect of blueness, how could the aspect of blueness reside in the memory-knowledge of blue apprehension? Just as the aspect of cloth does not reside in the memory of a pillar. Moreover, when, with subsequent knowledge, one inwardly determines, "Such and such a mind has arisen in my own continuum," the first memory-knowledge that determines the arising of the blue apprehension knowledge has two aspects: the aspect of blueness and the aspect of blue apprehension knowledge. Therefore, it exceeds the blue apprehension itself by one aspect, and this is the difference between the remembered object and the remembering subject. Similarly, in this way, each subsequent knowledge exceeds each preceding knowledge by one aspect. The first memory-knowledge, by its own nature, that is, by the nature of the object, has two apprehended aspects, namely, the two modes of blue apprehension as objects, and the aspect of self, that is, one grasping aspect of blue apprehension memory, making three in total. In some cases, the second knowledge of subsequent memory of blue apprehension arises in such a way. And that kind of first memory is also conceptualized by the third, that is, the knowledge that has become the second memory-knowledge. When one remembers, "What was the first memory-knowledge like?" one remembers, "It was the grasping that had the aspect of the two modes of blue apprehension." After that, when one conceptualizes, "What was the memory of blue apprehension memory like?" one conceptualizes, "It was the knowledge that had the aspect of the two modes of blue apprehension," that is, the grasping that had three aspects. In that way, as long as one can count and grasp the details and up to the memory, each preceding grasping is absorbed by each subsequent aspect and increases. Therefore, the individual minds of the subject have such different details. If there is no difference in aspect, one cannot distinguish the differences between the individual minds, and all minds will become one without distinction. If there is no object, and only the subject is remembered, it is seen that. If someone says, "I saw something before, but I don't remember it," then at that time, there will also be doubt about the knowledge, and if one only remembers the general grasping, then the apprehended will also have that, and self-reflexive mind.

What is done is merely distinguishing and grasping through conceptualization, just like contemplating the impermanence of a pot. Thus, the recollection of the object-possessor is undeniably established, and it is never possible for the object-possessor to grasp independently, separate from the appearance of its object. Therefore, the key is that all minds have two aspects of their own nature, and thus they remember. Just as one cannot remember a pot without abandoning bloating, and one cannot remember a bull without abandoning tumors and scrotums, it is because the nature of those things has become such. It is the same for the mind. If the mind itself has no appearance at all, then when remembering the blue-grasping sense consciousness, it would be reasonable not to remember the blue appearance. Even if the blue-grasping sense consciousness is without appearance, since it has not experienced itself, it is impossible to remember all appearances. But in connection with remembering the blue object, is it just a conceptual thought, thinking, 'That is its grasping'? In general, when judging one's own mind-stream with consciousness, can one judge its characteristics in this way through experience or memory? If not, then how can one's own mind be an object of knowledge? Because it will not become an object of any conceptual or non-conceptual thought. If one cannot judge oneself, then it is even more inappropriate for others to judge. If one can judge, then since it is both a blue-grasping and a formless consciousness, one must consider how to distinguish it from other consciousnesses such as yellow-grasping. If one thinks that it is judged merely as grasping blue, then since the blue appearance is an external object, after excluding the external object, can one judge what the nature of the mind itself is? If so, then one also admits to experiencing a consciousness like a crystal ball, devoid of the appearance of an object. And if one admits that the blue-grasping is also it, the yellow-grasping is also it, etc., that it has no appearance and yet grasps all appearances, then that would be very beautiful. If one cannot judge, then admitting that there is a formless consciousness is merely a proposition, because there is no proof. It would be good to abandon the thought of hating undeniable image-possessing minds and self-awareness. Even though one has not experienced the object-possessing mind itself, one says that one remembers it from remembering the object, and even though one has not experienced the external object, one says that one remembers it in the experience of the mind as if experiencing the external object. These two are both vows.
