Therefore, it remains just as it is. Secondly, the teacher Dignāga explained happiness and so on as the measure of self-awareness, but here it is said that grasping aspect is the establishment of self-awareness. Is there no contradiction? These two have the same meaning, that is, the object to be measured, the aspect of cognition grasping its own nature, having this name, the nature of completely determining cognition internally, from the point of view that cognition itself can be experienced is a measure, and the object is also oneself, therefore the grasping aspect is called self-awareness, which is an excellent explanation. Relying on its object is also a measure, and from the perspective of appearing as two kinds of consciousness, one can grasp oneself, so from this the reason for establishing self-awareness is also established. Although it appears as two, in reality it is not two, but only one consciousness appears, so the grasping aspect can completely transform into self-awareness, but the grasped aspect has no self-awareness. The grasping aspect has no other grasping aspect, but it will not therefore be without self-awareness, all these distinctions can be easily established. Just as when pointing at the moon with a finger, one only looks at the tip of the finger, do not be disturbed by the confusion of words, carefully think about its meaning, and you will understand the key points of self-awareness. Second, explain the proof. To establish the two ways of knowing, and to establish that knowing can know itself. First, it is established by relying on two kinds of knowledge. Later, it is established from the reason of memory. First, show the reason for establishing the two ways. Show the faults of not admitting the two ways. First, establish from admitting external objects, and establish from not admitting external objects. First, establish the two ways by relying on object-consciousness, and establish the two ways by relying on that-consciousness. First, relying on the knowledge of the existence of the grasped meaning, and relying on the knowledge of the non-existence of the grasped meaning. First, knowledge itself arises with the aspect of having an object. Establish that meaning from the metaphor. First, in general, establishing the two ways of knowing and self-awareness, these are said in the Measure Sutra: "By the distinction of object-consciousness and that-consciousness, Is the two ways of mind. Later, it can also be accomplished by memory, Two ways and self-awareness, Because there is no experience, there is no this. If experienced by other consciousness, Then there is also memory in the endless one, Likewise, transferring to other objects, Not becoming a change is also seen."

When explaining the meaning of aggregates, first, relying on the view of the Vaibhashika school, which acknowledges external objects, to establish the two aspects of mind and objects. Thus, all the five sense consciousnesses that arise from objects such as form, etc., although form, etc., are other than that, and the independent mind, etc., are the cause, the consciousness arises as the aspect of the object due to the nature of the interdependence of things, and not as the aspect of other causes. Second, for example, the food that parents eat and drink matures into essence, and when the menstrual period arrives, and actions, etc., are also the cause of giving birth to a child, but the child takes the form of either parent, and not the form of other foods, etc. The fetus is either a boy or a girl, and the appearance, etc., are born similar to the parents, similarly, objects such as form, etc., and the independent mind and objects other than that, although they are the same cause as the sense consciousness, the aspect that arises as an object becomes the object of the consciousness of form, etc., from that part. Because without the object that creates the image, there will be no such consciousness with aspects, without the object, there will be no knower, and without the knower, the external object will not be known. Therefore, the consciousness that has the meaning of the apprehended external object cannot be the cause and effect at the same time, so it is the image made by the cause object, just like the image appears in the mirror due to the influence of the form. Second, the reality and refutation of its answer. First, the mind that has the self-characteristic of the apprehended object and the object and the knower thinks that the meaning appears nakedly, but you doubt whether it will cling to the direct encounter without the image of the meaning. However, the meaning that is not the object now, clinging to the past meaning, appears like the object and the knower, which is undeniable, thus the two ways of knowing and grasping, and thus establishing self-awareness, because if it does not have the aspect of the apprehended, it will lead to clinging to the direct encounter of the past meaning, and if there is no self-awareness, it will lead to not experiencing such a mind. Second, refute the clinging to other kinds of meanings by memory, refute the non-associated formations, and refute the self-characteristics of external objects. First, the Vaisheshikas, etc., say that although the past meaning is clear, the general characteristic of it has not disappeared, so
