Because of expressions of body language such as speech and movement, it is inferred that it has a mind. Because such expressions cannot arise without relying on the cause of mind, the nature of that mind is also necessarily established in the continuum of that other, therefore such inference is not mistaken. Otherwise, how many valid inferences are there, such as inferring fire from smoke? If there is no relationship of non-arising without it, it will not deceive. Therefore, inferring from such signs is itself a valid cognition, so valid inference is established differently from direct perception. Second, refuting the proof that inference is not valid cognition, divided into brief explanation and detailed explanation. First, if inference is seen as mistaken in some cases, such as eating one emblic myrobalan and inferring that all emblic myrobalans everywhere are astringent, it may be mistaken, so it is not trustworthy and is considered not valid. Such a mistaken one is not a valid inference, because you yourself have seen the reversed sign that does not have the three aspects, so you consider the correct sign to be the same as that reversed sign, you yourself have a delusion about valid inference, isn't it? Second, divided into: there is no error in the sign of establishment; there is no error in the sign of refutation. First, if the sign of establishment is correct, then there can be no error in any way, such as signs like smoke and being made, from which, in some places and times, and on some subjects of phenomena such as sound, the object to be proven, such as fire and impermanence, that realization is undoubtedly established in the mind of the individual, that is the fruit produced from the object to be proven, or the way in which the nature of being one with that nature is undoubtedly established, establishing a special concomitance. If one's own cause, such as fire, or impermanence, which is one with one's own nature, disappears and ceases to exist, then signs such as smoke and being made cannot exist, because the exclusion is established. Whatever is seen as having such a nature is not only at the time it is seen now, but also in all other places and times, it is a characteristic that is so certain, because it is the nature of things, like the heat of fire.

Therefore, sometimes there is no confusion, but sometimes there may be confusion, and it is impossible in all cases that confusion does not occur. Second, for visible phenomena, their own nature is like smoke, or their own cause, that is, the cause of fire and the pervasive visible things, even if there are other causes of seeing, such as the senses, if these objects do not appear, that is, if no cognition arises about them, then what is the nature of the visible, and the fruit and pervasion associated with it? Therefore, it can be determined that it does not exist in any case, so there is no confusion about the sign of negation. With just the cause and nature, all other signs of negation are actually covered, that is, because the nature of the visible itself and the associated object are contrary, the associated object cannot arise, and the contradictory object will eventually become the unobserved of the appearing object. Second, if inference is not a valid cognition, it will be too extreme, refuting the entity and its answer. First, inference is a valid cognition is confused, because it is an object of generality, if it is thought that the cognition of generality is not a valid cognition, then it will actually be concluded that everything other than what is now manifested by sense consciousness does not exist. For example, like the objects of the afterlife that you yourself admit. That is, now one's own property, utensils, residence, friends, relatives, and so on, which are not seen in the present direct perception, and many things of other times and places, if it is thought that the attachment to them is an attachment to generality and not an attachment to particularity, then all these will not exist, because they are not seen by direct perception now, and you have admitted that clinging to existence through generality is confused. Second, if you say that even if you have not grasped them with direct perception now, they will not cease to exist, because the senses can directly perceive the hidden things at other times. Then, at other times, if the senses directly perceive it, it exists, and if it does not perceive it, it does not exist, it is not reasonable to establish existence and non-existence in this way, because for the colored senses and the ability of seeds to produce fruits, and the ability of matter, etc., it is impossible at any time to allow the cognition produced by ordinary senses to be used as a basis for determining their existence, so in other times and places, the senses cannot directly perceive.
