Is it that one does not abandon faults because there is absolutely no way to abandon them? Or, although there is a method, is it because one does not know it that a practitioner cannot abandon these faults, and therefore it is said that these faults can never be exhausted? If one understands it in this way, none of these three situations are the case, because faults sometimes arise, so they are not permanent because they have a cause. Moreover, since it is possible to exhaust these causes by familiarizing oneself with the antidote, it is not that there is no method. Furthermore, if one can understand that without which all this would not arise, just as it is said in the scriptures, "Desire, your root is, born from discrimination after knowing," because one knows what its cause is, one also fully understands the antidote that is contrary to it, so it is not that one does not know the method. Therefore, if one perseveres with such a method to the extreme, one can abandon all faults. Second is protection: As mentioned above, a teacher arises from love, and a Sugata arises from perfecting love, and protection arises from a Sugata who possesses such three qualities. How does one protect? The Buddha Bhagavan is a protector, because when the path that he himself has realized reaches its culmination, he can also truthfully and without inversion proclaim it to others. Because such a path can completely protect from all suffering, such a teacher can protect sentient beings. Others, such as the teachers of Samkhya, cannot protect, because their methods cannot completely liberate practitioners from samsara. When one has fully realized the true meaning, and then proclaims it to others, the words spoken are without inversion and without fault, because there is no cause for fault. Why is there no cause for fault? Because there is no result or need, one does not speak lies to deceive sentient beings. Because to proclaim in this way in a distorted manner is due to the control of faults such as attachment and aversion, thinking of other purposes in one's mind, and speaking lies in order to achieve these purposes. But for those who have completely abandoned faults such as attachment, it is impossible to have such intentions. Furthermore, even if one does not intentionally proclaim in a distorted manner, one may proclaim in a distorted manner due to not understanding. However, it has already been proven that the Buddha has no ignorance, so it is impossible to proclaim in a distorted manner.
