If it is said that these actions, relying on which, are the cause, and when the power of karma is destroyed, one will not take rebirth even if there is consciousness because the cause is incomplete. If that is the case, if the cause, which is the 'self,' is not reversed, then wandering in samsara will not cease either. Therefore, the desire to cut off rebirth in samsara through empowerment and the like is highly contradictory to your own commitment. Furthermore, the permanent self is not at all a cause of samsara. Because rebirth in samsara is gradually taken, and the permanent self does not need to rely on conditions, it is contradictory to gradually produce results. Moreover, the state of doing and not doing that action, that single 'self' whose nature is the same in all respects, is contradictory to being the agent of action. If it is the agent, then it should also act when it did not act before, because it is the same as the current agent. It should also not act when it is acting now, because it is the same as the one that did not act before. Therefore, it is highly contradictory to consider that permanent self, which is considered to have no difference between before and after and no change whatsoever, to be the agent. Moreover, the cause, such as the agent who commits killing, and the result, such as the hell being who experiences the result, will both become the same, because you consider the agent and the experiencer to be the same. If you consider these causes and results to be different from the 'self,' then the 'self' being the agent and the enjoyer of the result will also disappear, because it has done nothing and enjoyed nothing, just like the beings of other continuums. If you think that the 'self' did not directly perform the action, but because of its existence, the action is performed through its power, then it is not possible to establish power for the permanent, because there is no coming and going, and it has been analyzed many times before. Thus, after pointing out the harm of the permanent self being the cause of samsara, the refutation of expressing what appears to be harm to it by others: If the permanent self does not exist, then since the aggregates alone are destroyed in an instant, when one remembers one's previous experiences, it will become others experiencing and others remembering, and when the agent of action dies, others will enjoy the actions done by others, and cause and effect will be wasted, and so on. Including from 'etc.,' when one sees something before and recognizes it later, it will become someone who has not seen it seeing, someone who has not experienced it being recognized by others for no reason, etc., these are not considered to be harmful to the Buddhist view.

Because some permanent, singular, and independent individuals also believe that there is no memory that can conform to meaning. Because it is impossible for a permanent self to have memory, etc., therefore, from the awakening of the habitual imprints of wisdom experienced in the past, later memory arises. Apart from the aggregates of no-self, which are merely an impermanent continuum, it is not reasonable for memory, experience, and recognition, etc., to arise in this way. Secondly, the self-nature of one's own system, the four truths, are falsely superimposed with perverted views, clinging to stability or permanence and happiness, as well as to "I" and "mine," etc. Because of being deluded by the sixteen aspects of non-reality, they are falsely imputed, and therefore they are completely attached to all afflictive aspects and accumulate karma, thus wandering in samsara. The attachment that arises from the sixteen perverted aspects, which have meanings contrary to the suchness of the four truths, is destroyed by correct view. How is it destroyed? Having well cultivated impermanence, suffering, no-self, emptiness, cause, arising, etc., which are in accordance with the realization of the suchness of the four truths, is the correct view. It destroys the attachment that arises from falsely imputing perverted views, and if it exists, it destroys stinginess, etc., which arise from it or follow it, as well as defiled actions, etc., and all the faults that throw one into samsara. Secondly, refuting liberation by the exhaustion of karma and body. There are two parts: the main text and refuting its answer. First, the naked ascetics say: Liberation occurs when karma and body are exhausted by the power of asceticism, but liberation is impossible if karma is not exhausted, because karma itself is very powerful and involuntarily throws one back into samsara. Therefore, if karma and body are not exhausted, even if attachment is abandoned, why would one not take rebirth? It is not like that, even if karma and body remain, one cause of taking a body is attachment, and because it is absent, the cause is incomplete. Therefore, karma, body, and attachment, these three must be complete, and such a rebirth is impossible to arise. Because if the cause is incomplete, the result will not arise. For example, without a seed, even if water, fertilizer, soil, etc., are gathered, a sprout will not grow. If asceticism exhausts karma and body, it is the same as not being reborn, so even if attachment is not abandoned, is asceticism alone the path to liberation? Karma and body, etc., cannot be abandoned,
