Due to the power of accepting actions, when the result ripens, even if one is unwilling, suffering will not cease until the karma is exhausted, just like craving poisonous food and eating it. Even if one is unwilling to experience the suffering of physical illness, it will occur, and similarly, this is also caused by craving. Even when in a lower realm, one is not without craving for one's own aggregates. Initially entering such aggregates depends on the power of karma and the craving arising from the delusion of inverted ignorance, as previously explained. Therefore, if there is no craving for something, one will not take it, and the attainment of that state will cease, like those who temporarily detach from the desires of the lower realms and the Arhats who have completely exhausted craving. Second, why is it that only the craving for existence is the cause of arising? For example, the sutra says: What is the noble truth of arising? It is this craving, which is the cause of arising, possessing joyful desire, greatly delighting in this and that. For example, craving for desire, craving for existence, and craving for non-existence. Thinking this way, it does not contradict the meaning of the sutra. The craving to approach the womb and other places of birth, as just mentioned, is the desire for existence. If so, why are sentient beings not guided by Ishvara and others, but instead desire to obtain and abandon pleasure and pain themselves? Those are respectively called craving for desire and craving for non-existence. Wanting to obtain happiness is craving for desire, wanting to abandon or destroy suffering is craving for non-existence, therefore, one acts in this way towards existence with the thought of abandoning and taking. Furthermore, craving for desire is craving for the phenomena of the desire realm, craving for existence is craving for the phenomena of the higher realms, and craving for non-existence is considered to be the desire to abandon suffering. So, where does craving arise from, and how does it enter into existence? It arises from the cause of attachment to self. How does it enter? Because of the inverted perception of perceiving what is not happiness as happiness, one will fully enter all places of birth, such as the womb. Therefore, craving is the basis or cause for the accomplishment of existence. The third part is divided into two parts.

Firstly, it has not been seen that a being without attachment is born. Because it has never been seen that a being who is born does not accept milk and so on, and the environment, therefore attachment is the cause of birth, as said by the previous teacher Vasubandhu and others. For example, the teacher Vasubandhu said: Because the birth of a person without desire has not been seen, therefore birth is the reason for desire. To this, the Lokayata said: Then, since attachment has not been seen in the disembodied either, desire also arises from the body. What the Lokayata said is unreasonable, what does it mean that there is no attachment in the disembodied? Is it said because the body is only considered a condition for the arising of attachment? Or is it considered that the body is the immediate cause of attachment? Although birth without attachment has not been seen, what does it mean to say that the body is also a condition for attachment in birth with attachment? According to the first case, although it is true that the attachment seen in the embodied is seen in that embodied being, the body of that embodied being also causes attachment, and we also admit that this is a reason that helps the arising of attachment, so it is acceptable. According to the second case, since the mind arises from the body, the very idea that the body is the immediate cause of attachment has already been refuted by reason. According to the third case, since birth without attachment has not been seen, if one follows this reasoning and believes that those who take a body and grasp birth are not free from attachment, then the Lokayata's own commitment will harm his own assertion that there is no previous birth, because it is established that the mind with attachment takes that body. There is no other thought than these three. If one says that even if there is no previous mind with attachment, attachment arises together with the birth of the body simply because attachment is seen at birth, then the body that arises at the same time cannot help attachment, because it has already been proven that things that arise at the same time have no connection, and such an attachment mind cannot arise without a cause in the first moment, so because it arises from its own similar previous equal cause, it is established that there is a similar kind of mind even before the body is formed.
